Using this scale: Eight wins – Miami, Arizona, Oakland, KC, St.L, Denver, SF, Miami again.

Questionable – Cincinnatti, Buffalo, Tennessee, Buffalo again, Seattle.

Losses – NE, SD, NE again.

Still don’t see how the Jets can miss the playoffs unless they just can’t beat ANY of the questionable teams. Then they’re eight and eight and still the over.

Coleman IS underrated in this article, and by many, but Ellis in my mind is underrated a ton by JETS fans. The guys has been a pretty steady producer over his career, with his real dip in sacks coming in the 3-4 after Mangini took over.

He isn’t ideal for the 3-4, but he’s been a “good soldier” and is far from their weak spot. All-in-all, I think he’s been a good, competent DE, at times very good (earlier in his career with approx 12 sacks).

It would be great to get Jordan back, but no doubt as a backup to Jones. Jets fans will be suprised what Jones does this year behind our new o-line.

i would love to have jordan back on the team to…i think he just had enough of oakland…i think he still good…he just wants out…like randy moss wanted out…imo i think he’s alot better than TJ…BUT THATS JUST ME…

The Pats that high?!? I like their front 3, but age is really showing in their 4 LBs. Vrabel’s sack numbers were good, but his overall play was mediocre. Bruschi and Seau are way past their primes and Adalious can’t do it on his own. Isn’t it damning that the Jets’ worst starting LB, Hobson, will be an ILB starter for the Pats?

Harlan gets the voodoo doll for ragging on Coleman, again. He was the most consistent D-lineman for the Jets last season, led the NFL in tackles for a D-lineman and was hampered by the Jets’ worst run-stopping and pass-rushing LB, Hobson. Plus, he was one of the few front 7 players (along with Harris) that actually improved as the season progressed. All of this he accomplished in his first season as a starter. Also, most teams ran right against the Jets or cut-back up the middle, so Coleman was not the target. The few times I recall teams running left, Coleman was pretty good. Overall, if he wasn’t good, he was at least mediocre, and with Jenkins and better LB play, he could be a very pleasant surprise.

Coleman LEAD ALL OF DE’S IN TACKLES LAST SEASON. HE DID HIS JOB AND GOT 87 TACKLES. With kris jenkins as a NT, which is basically the leader of the defense, we should be MUCH improved. Also, Thomas, Pace and Gholston can all rush the passer well. And even though hes lost it a bit, Ellis can still get some sacks. I wouldn’t be surpriesed if we end up being a top-10 defense in football.

Having watched Lamont Jordan the last 2 years, it seems clear that he should resume his prior role as a backup to Curtis Martin.
