I am sick of this (edited)! This guy is going to ruin what should be a good season for us. The FO needs to deal with this, he can’t be allowed to spew this crap every day in the media. Either pay him or cut him, but end it now.

  4. avatar JustAGreenGuy says:

If we ignored him the press would. We are the consumers. Look at the headlines. I don’t care about any TE this much.

  5. avatar ramble914 says:

Sorry Bassett. I’ll use “crap” from now on.

  6. avatar Bassett says:

:) no worries! i’m messing with a plug-in to the blog that will catch stuff like that now! :P

  7. avatar ramble914 says:

The FO should call in Baker and his agent, and tell them to keep quiet the rest of the season, and they will do something after this season. This way everyone saves face, and gets what they want, and no one looks like they gave in.

  8. avatar JustAGreenGuy says:

Ramble- Thats how Baker sees what happened last year. In a rational world it might even be able to work. Woody did go out and shake Baker’s hand tho.

  9. avatar DSmizzle says:

HAHAHAHA, NICE! So ramdom but thats funny. Thanks for the spot, Bassett!!!

    JAGG,

I would imagine that Woody and the FO are pretty ticked at him, so the non-handshake dosen’t surprise me.

If you remember last year, Baker openly criticized the coaching staff to the media after a loss. Now add in this crap, and I’m sure they are very unhappy with him.

The way I’m beginning to feel about this whole situation is that I’m almost hoping they make an example of him. How? I’m not sure. If they cut him he would be picked up in a matters of hours. Can they trade him? If they did, the next team would have to give him a new contract, so where’s the punishment? They are going to have to do what I said in my earlier post and cut some secret deal after the season.

DSmizzle–Very nice. Hope you still talk to us now that you’re amongst the NYT crowd!

  12. avatar ramble914 says:

    JAGG,

That first paragraph didn’t come out right. Should have said the handshake surprised me considering how ticked they must be.

  13. avatar JustAGreenGuy says:

If get a good trade we both win, except that the next primadonna will think that is all they have to do to get a trade.

I’m ticked at him, so that handshake suprised me too.

The only way to win is for him to play this year for this years money. If he has a great year we can trade him or give him more money and keep him.

  14. avatar ramble914 says:

The thing I don’t get is that in 2006 he was a FA and nobody wanted him, so he signed a 4 year $6.6million deal. I’ll bet he was tickled pink with it. In 2007 he had a “career year”, which compared to all NFL TE’s was still average. How does he think is is intitled to some big re-do of his contract?

  15. avatar JustAGreenGuy says:

Because he is a baby, working with a shark and there is blood in the water.

A non handshake would have been tomorrows headline.
