Jets Waive Kapinos, Davis & Myers

Punter Jeremy Kapinos, kicker Mark Myers and WR Chris Davis were waived yesterday by the Jets. In their place, the team has signed another punter, Joe Smith and WR Ashlan Davis (5-9, 185).

Smith finished college this year at DII Central Washington while Davis was eligible in 2006, and has played two seasons in the CFL Waiveing Jeremy Kapinos, all but determined the outcome of who will be punting for the Jets this fall in the form of Ben Graham.

There’s been a sense that Kapinos might have had a shot at making the team, but it would appear that the team isn’t ready to give up on Ben Graham. Kapinos might well be back once the roster is juggled some, but it would seem that the team is on the verge of signing someone and needed to make room, like a drafted player.

  1. good thing, ben grahams punts are insanely hard to catch. ill take a yd or two less on the avg in exchange for the australan wobbly-ness.

  2. Who is Ashlan Davis?

  3. I hope they get VG signed fast!! Keller too but im not as worried about him…
