Everything But the Kitchen Link

More links to pass along as we celebrate 68 days until the start of the season!

A Patriots fan includes Eric Mangini at number two on his list of NFL players he loves to hate. Good player, that Eric Mangini.

Former Jets WR Sloan Thomas says he walked away from a contract with the Jets (read: never had a shot at making the roster) and is now looking to become an athletics director.

Rumours (sic) of the Jets interest in Kevin Jones were greatly exaggerated, as they didn’t bother to show up to his workout.

Profantasysports.com don’t believe in the 3rd year breakout for wideouts and advise that you can forget about drafting Brad Smith as a result.

And finally…friend of the show, LPC from New Era Scouting identifies one Abram Elam as a possible “no-name” that could have a big impact in the upcoming season.

  2. “The Mangenius”? I don’t think so. I prefer “Coach Tattle-Tale”
Good Lord, does anyone know if ESPN has any openings in their writing department? Pure brilliance.

  3. LOL, he changed the title of his piece to “NFL PERSONALITIES I Love to Hate”.

What a clown, he “bent” to your will, BENT!!!

    Nice work there.

  4. Spoken like a true Pats fan. Let’s whine about the very thing his own coach did. It goes to show that this guy is a fan since 2001 and doesn’t know his history. And okay I understand he’s a Pats fan, so there’s not a lot of football intelligence there, but how can you put Reche Caldwell on this list and not be biased. Reche Caldwell?? Really?? Why doesn’t he just call this list “10 people I hate because they screwed the Patriots”.

  5. Hey….all you Ainge followers here’s a good article:
    http://www.newyorkjets.com/news/articles/show/2258-erik-ainge-the-education-of-a-rookie-qb
    you’ll enjoy.

  6. I’teling you Ainge will be our QB sooner than we think!!!
    BET ON IT 111

  7. fORGET BOOMER HE WAS SLOW TO BEGIN WITH.

  8. Can I take that bet that Ainge won’t ever be a starting QB in this league. Like a worse younger Chad Pennington with slightly better arm strength.

  9. If Cryan McNickle thinks he hates Mangini now, wait ’til we’re winning!

“Bill Belicheat”? I don’t think so. I prefer “Coach Sign-n-Ditch”

  10. Fonzie,
If Ainge is our QB this year, then we are toast. It means both KC and Chad repeated the 05 season (back to back injuries) or they both stink so bad they had to be removed (or any combination thereof). Ainge is holding a clipboard this year and would have whether he had the surgery or not. Now that he has had the surgery and missed OTAs & isn’t taking reps at camp yet, he’s even less likely to start (barring a major catastrophe).

  11. Ainge’s mental prowess according to the article is encouraging for the future though, as long as it translates to the field.

  12. Watching the Combine this past year, specifically the QB drills- there was this one guy who I kept saying “who’s that” great form, good delivery with a tight spiral- then I’d hear his name- Ainge. He seemed to stand out among his group. I was really excited that we got him in the 5th! May need some work but I believe he has potential!

  13. Eh would have rather drafted Andre Woodson he looked much better in the SEC than Ainge.

  14. It was fun bashing that moron in the comments of his 10 players/personalities article. He just couldn’t stop taking the bait.

  15. I just got done watching Ainge’s highlights and can’t believe how much he reminds me of Testaverde. They are both 6-5 and carry themsleves very similiarly. Ainge seems to have a good arm, and a good feel for the game. His 2007 stats were impressive. It’s nice to know we may have a bonafide QB waiting in the wings.
