I just got done watching Ainge’s highlights and can’t believe how much he reminds me of Testaverde. They are both 6-5 and carry themsleves very similiarly. Ainge seems to have a good arm, and a good feel for the game. His 2007 stats were impressive. It’s nice to know we may have a bonafide QB waiting in the wings.

Eh would have rather drafted Andre Woodson he looked much better in the SEC than Ainge.

Watching the Combine this past year, specifically the QB drills- there was this one guy who I kept saying “who’s that” great form, good delivery with a tight spiral- then I’d hear his name- Ainge. He seemed to stand out among his group. I was really excited that we got him in the 5th! May need some work but I believe he has potential!

Ainge’s mental prowess according to the article is encouraging for the future though, as long as it translates to the field.

Fonzie,
If Ainge is our QB this year, then we are toast. It means both KC and Chad repeated the 05 season (back to back injuries) or they both stink so bad they had to be removed (or any combination thereof). Ainge is holding a clipboard this year and would have whether he had the surgery or not. Now that he has had the surgery and missed OTAs & isn’t taking reps at camp yet, he’s even less likely to start (barring a major catastrophe).

Can I take that bet that Ainge won’t ever be a starting QB in this league. Like a worse younger Chad Pennington with slightly better arm strength.
