sounds like camp fodder to me. With Mangold fimly entrenched, and Woody able to step in (in a pinch) I would assume this is no attempt at upgrading the roster, but another body to bring in for TC reps on the practice teams.

Another body to put in the mix for the interior line backup positions, where it is widely considered we are weak (although Mangini was talking up Robert Turner and Matt McChesney).

    From rookiepedia:

    NFL Scouting Report
Decent size … Good character … Smart … Three time PAC 10 honorable mention … Also plays guard … Played at the East West Shrine game, but struggled as he was often overpowered … Lacking in technical ability … Runs a 5.18 forty

Jets need quality, experienced linemen, if they expect to be there for the playoffs. We have no quality back-up linemen. Wake up Tannenbaum! How did you let the Giants get Olivea?

The Jets should go after Pedro Sosa from Rutgers. Before he injured his knee, he was a top OLine prospect. If he is fully recovered as has been reported, he could be a steal.

    Harvlis,

Olivea’s missed drug test and subsequent 4 week suspension contradicts the moral voice of our team.

Giants will look the other way with glaring “character” concerns.

In return they get players that miss OTAs, have disgruntled player-coach relationships, and player-player relationships, yet have a talented squad with decent depth… oh yeah, and that trophy-thing you get when you relax your character standards for talent; and win the last of a 21-game schedule.

Hopefully our commitment to character will pay its dividends when we one day find a morally righteous olympic wrestler, shot-putter, or backgammon champion that has hidden his pro-bowl talent from the sport for twenty-some years. What makes me hopeful, is the fact that we haven’t stopped looking.

    :)

yea harvlis, u tell them… take all the good moral guys you can get man, watching your team wn a superbowl ring sucks compared to being proud of the fact that they didnt miss one useless ota. and forget superbowl mvps, id much rather him get along with his coaches…. what a jackass
