- Check who’s signed and who’s not from the first round.
- Bob Bullock is not pleased with the way the Baker situation is progressing.
- The Pats continue their sloppy seconds, picking up Anthony Clement. Does this have anything to do with Nick Kaczur’s 202 OxyContin pills? Probably.
- The Pats signed two more of their picks.
- Urlacher got his new contract.
- Langer writes about the guy who keeps the field … dreamy.

I couldn’t disagree more with Bullock on the way the Jets are handling the Baker siruation.
Sooner or later the team has to put a stop to players following the Kendall blueprint for getting what they want, and I’d rather see them stop it sooner.
I like Baker the player, but.
His contract history with the Jets is well documented & they have been more than fair with him.
He has admitted that he never heard about “being taken care of” directly from the team, but from his agent who he was in the process of dumping. Could the agent have been trying to save a client?
You don’t reward childish behavior – such as parking in the team president’s reserved parking spot and refusing to move your car – as it only encourages more childish behavior.

Hey Harlan I thought you liked it on TJB, you need to paste your reply here from Bullock’s blog here too =)
Anyhow, it only seems like we are going through the same issue with Baker as with Kendal but he is no where near the locker room presence that PK was as he is not a player rep, lawyer type. I think the Jets need to call Baker’s bluff and still be amenable to giving him more, maybe mid-season, if he keeps his trap shut.
I see the Urlacher signing in the same way, albeit a much more important player than Baker, but he had a contract through 2011 and wanted more so he fought for it. I agree that people should honor the contracts they sign but clearly the players have a different POV because it is their bodies they are abusing.
Nobody has mentioned that Baker has been missing from the media the past several weeks which may mean that Tangini got to him, told him to keep his trap shut, and they will both get what they want – Baker will get his contract, the Jets will look tough by standing tough early but eventually meeting half-way. This all being on the condition that Baker stay invisible. We will see in a couple of days I guess. I think if he comes out saying “I’ve said all I can on that issue and nothing I say now will alter my situation” or something along those lines we may assume this will get resolved here. If not he we may assume the opposite.
this guy bullock doesn’t seem to know what he’s talking about…according to him the jets should fold and give a multimillion dollar contract to baker who is a tad bit above average talent…and he’s comparing shocky and j.taylor situation to baker’s…and there situations were completely different…plus those 2 guys are major factors to their teams…while is not… just my thoughts…
while baker isn’t a major factor…
