The Jets have finally completed the Vernon Gholston signing – at 4:30am this morning! If he turns up at camp later looking a complete mess, you’ll know why.
According to ESPN, it’s a FIVE year deal (so did the Jets cave?) for between $32.5m and $50m depending on his performance (so maybe the agent caved on the fiscal terms), with $21m in guarantees.
ESPN is reporting that the Jets have sought and received permission to speak with Favre.

I dont get it…how is the contract range between 32.5 and 50 if the guaranteed is 21? doesnt the range make 32.5 the guaranteed?
No, Brian, he only gets between 32.5 and 50 if he plays the whole contract. The 21m is the guaranteed part if he was to be cut early.
Let’s get favre! Hopefully he plays for two years and Ainge steps in and is our QB of the future.
