Why all this METS crap????? They will collapse again at the end of the season because this team was put together with shoe strings. If you are are real baseball fan, you are a Yankee fan. How about some Yankee links.
ed,
yankee fans are anything but real baseball fans. ask the average yankee fan who played CF before bernie or SS before Jeter and they have no idea. yankee fans are, for the most part, a bunch of idiots and thugs who don’t actually like the team – they just like being able to scream “26 championships!!!” (which, by the way, isn’t that impressive when you consider that they won most of them when there were only 8 teams in the league).
there is no more loathsome creature than the yankee fan.
* also, considering the 2004 ALCS, I find it ridiculous that yankee fans think themselves in ANY position to talk about collapses. 2007 is NOTHING compared to that.
Gee Ed, it’s hard to imagine why SNY blogs would be so Mets heavy … hmm let me think about that here for a second … :)
Robeto / Bobby / Roberto Kelly was the CF for the Yanks before Bernie Baby, I think he was once made an All-Star just cause teams had to have an all-star … nice.
Speaking as a Yankees fan, I remember the glorious days of Matt Nokes, so have enjoyed the run, but Yankees fans by and large are starting to act like Sawx fans circa 2003 … they are getting desperate.
Thugs and idiots? That is typical of a METS fan. Let’s call people names and not argue facts. Mets fans have an inferiority complex when it comes to the Yankees. Since the last METS WS Championship the Yanks have won 4 championships. The best one was in 2000. 26 Championships is the most of any professional sport, so leave it to a METS fan to think that is not impressive. I have been a Yankees fan since the 50’s, so I have seen the good, the bad and the ugly and I am and will always be a Yankees fan.
if you don’t like mets talk, get over it. there’s no reason to bash opposing fan bases (unless we’re talking about patriots or dolphins fans)
yes ed, thugs and idiots. anyone who has ever sat in the upper deck or the bleachers (or been to northern jersey ), knows what i’m talking about. and you shouldn’t feel so proud of that 2000 world series. more than a third of your roster from that year has been implicated in the steroids scandal via the mitchell report. yankees and patriots – both cheaters.
(see what i did there, bassett? i tied the patriots in there to bash their fan base and brought it all full circle)
