Camp Files: Matt S. Reports In

Matt S. sent in his thoughts from going to camp and checking out the team, along with some thoughts about the swirling QB situation. 1. Leon Washington looks bigger but still quick. Could he be the number one back by the end of the season?
  2. Still a lot of talk about Farve. Personal opinion: not worth a 1st or 2nd rounder but for a 3rd I would jump at the opportunity. I don’t think Chad or Kellen have any potential and Brett gives us the best chance to over the next two years.
  3. I get the feeling Dustin Keller will get as many catches or more than whoever is the Jets slot reciever.
  4. Gholston looks like he can play at this level … a little behind but not that much.
  5. I like what Erik Ainge is doing. Could he, under Farve for a year or two, be able to take over for Farve and lead the Jets?
  6. Cotchery looks more and more comfortable every year. I think he will become a top 15 NFL receiver this year.

  1. Is Ainge participating and throwing passes?

  2. Yeah, Favre is great, but can he run the schottenheimer offense with only half a training camp.

I’m guessing he would throw the same amount of picks as TDs in a brand new offense.

  3. Brian,

Sounds as if you’re in love with Favre. CP and KC have NO potential? And, Ainge is taking over for Favre already? I favor getting Favre too, but let’s not jump the gun just yet.

  4. Whoops! Sorry Brian. I meant to direct that to Matt S. Have to improve my reading skills!

  5. good notes man but i think favre is worth a 2nd rd and jets dont even know how 2 use a 2nd rd pick and im hoping leon can be the starter at the end of the season or mayb nxt yr or they should atleast do it like the jags were tayler and jones get equal snaps aand i hope engie cna be the nxt tom brady

  6. Cotchery already is a top 15 receiver. He’s just been on the receiving end of some sub par QB play. PUN INTENDED.
