D. Rose is Rambling: Traaaaaaaaaining Camp

If there’s one thing we know about our very own D.Rose, it’s that he’ll tell you what he thinks. We can vouch for that when last summer we saw him tell Eric Barton “I’m your only fan!!” In this column, D uses the space as an opportunity speak his mind, from the perspective of a die-hard Jet fan, tailgater and ticketholder in Section 321. Today, he reports from his journey yesterday to training camp and of his love of Jets media interns.
If you’ve never been to training camp, you’re really not missing all that much. It’s really more fun to go when you have a TJB meetup before hand and can consume some frosty beverages before hand. The highlight of camp for me was the media relations girl. She was uber hot.
But for those of you who really care about the football here are my observations:
- Even though he won the off season conditioning award D’Brick is still the thinnest of all the O-Lineman. This is starting to worry me.
- Faneca has great hair, him and Mangold could definitely win best hair in the league.
- Chad was practicing with a taped calf
- Eric Ainge had some good zip on his balls early on. (insert joke here)
- Tony Richardson is a BEAST!! He demolished Gholston during a running drill. It was not pretty
- Chansi Stuckey’s foot looks healed by the way he made some really nice cuts during drills.
- Kellen while looking OK, connected with Cotch on a long TD during pass drills.
- Jacob Bender looked good during the O-Line drills. His punch looked strong and he was able to get his hands into the D-Lineman.
- Chad played with the 1st team during 11 vs 11 drills
- Eric Smith started with the first team D
- Pace and BT were the 1st team OLB’s
- Kellen had a nice connection with rookie Dustin Keller during 11 vs 11 drills.

I didn’t notice when I was at Camp, is Pace playing the left (strong) or right (weak, QB’s left or the “sacking”) side? He was the strong side OLB with the Cards and I anticipated that he’d play strong, while BT is a place holder for VG on the weak side. But, he was paid a lot of $$$, and the weak side is the glamour side.
Should be strongside, but since taking over the Jets use of their linebackers has bucked conventional wisdom.
Media woman was hot. She was one of the highlights for me, as well. The picture doesn’t do her justice. Did you see her on the day when she wore pigtails?
KC and Chad have alternated with the first team, up to this point. When I saw KC, on Tuesday afternoon, he was lucky if he completed one pass. And that was with the first team line.
We have a number of large OT’s, including Bender. Whether they can play in the NFL is the question. I hope that management picks up a solid veteran back-up (or two) for the O-Line. This looks to be a special year and I would hate to see a great first half, followed by a poor second half, due to no line depth.
Tony Richardson does look good. So does, Jehuu Caulcrick. We have a nice FB tandem.
Brick looks fine. He controls anybody who comes at him. Look for him to do a great job this season. What a difference with Faneca next to him. With Jenkins going at Mangold each day, Mangold will be that much better this year.
Screw Carton. Chad fans should go to WFAN and chant for his removal or replacement. It wouldn’t take much to replace him.
Good job, DRose. Once again, nice spot on media woman. This is the type of reporting we are looking for.
Rose, the other media girl pic was better. probably cause it was just her butt, delicious. Carton is the worst and you look like you’re losing some gut. What happened to the ‘I like my coaches fat?’ menatality? I like my commentators fat and front 7 stacked.
I’m praying Keller lives up to what the Jets think of him cause he’ll be key to making the big plays (assuming we have a QB with the arm and vision make the throw, looks like we just have one with arm and one with vision). See you at tailgates tons o fun, the countdown begins…
