No More Mr. Nice Guy
After today’s practice, it might seem that Mangini has had enough nonsense from those darn Tour de Frenchies he’s been gushing about so much recently. This morning’s practice was “not acceptable,” and he’s looking for accountability.
“Look, these (practices) aren’t long comparatively, but come on, it’s a joke compared to what we [did in 2006]. Everybody has to uphold their end of the bargain. To whom much is given, much is expected to be efficient. We’re doing that, we’re not wasting any practices, any periods. So that’s where I’m at.”
I’m not sure JC was exactly talking about efficiency in football practices when he dropped that 2,000 years ago, but the principle can be transferred. Of course it happened during the day that Clemens didn’t throw an interception … coincidence? Hrmmmm …
UPDATE: It sounds like there were a number of dropped passes from Bubba Franks, Ratliff threw a pick-six to Ahmad Carroll, Wallace Wright dropped some passes, Justin Miller got burned badly by WR David Clowney, the pass protection looked bad, and screen passes weren’t being executed well.
OK, unsolicited opinion time, America-style.
Listen, when you ask Frenchies to help with anything — let’s not even get started on 20th century wars — if the answer involves, a baguette, a glass of burgundy and not going “balls to the proverbial wall,” you’re going to be in trouble.
Last week, I think I even heard Bill Callahan say “c’est la vie!” about a botched line assignment during drills.

Bassett – am I missing something here? Ok, I get that Mangini isn’t happy with today’s practice, but did it go extra long today? Could you tell who was screwing up and/or why Mangini was pissed?
Thanks for the update. I guess every practice can’t be great…
There would be no U.S. without the French Money, Soldiers and Sailors; so let’s cut the crap and be respectful to the country that saved our democracy at its birth. Ungrateful Americans without a touch of class need to be sent back to a school that teaches maturity.
On the bright side, Batman Carroll returned an interception for a TD, David Clowney beat his man deep for a score and the pass rush was causing problems…
JC? Cotch, right?
Brian…I’m impressed with the link to Bible Gateway…great site!

Two questions : 1) What offended you by the “Tour de Frenchies ” and 2) Have you read the blog?

I go on this site to escape the daily routine including politics and to have fun with fellow Jets fans- having said that- yes- can’t thank the French enough for their help over 200 years ago but ever since it seems as though they are the ones with their nose in the air! We have more recent video of American Soldiers marching into France to liberate their country!!! So take a back seat and find another site to haunt!
