The problem is that a healthy Chad is both a rarity and not better than Brett Favre. Brett does have the most interceptions of any other QB. He also has the most wins, TDs and consecutive starts. He has only 1 losing season as an NFL starter. Also, since his 2004 shoulder injury, Chad has been an INT machine and has also thrown poorly-timed INTs. The difference is that Brett matches his INTs with the kind of big play ability that this team hasn't had since 1998. Favre's arm may be the most powerful in NFL history and there's no pass that he can't make on the field. Plus no QB in NFL history gets more out of his TE. Favre to Keller could become the AFC's deadliest QB-TE combo.

Football Outsiders ranked Favre's 2007 behind only Brady and Peyton. He made the Pro Bowl, passed for over 4,000 yards, had the highest completion pct. of his career and the highest yards per attempt for his career. Football Outsiders ranks Favre and Elway, by FO's stats, as the best 2 QBs of the modern era and note that Favre has had, using their statistical metrics, one below average season in his 16 years as a starter, and that was in 1999. Here's the article:

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3276536

I like Chad, said all off-season that he was the better choice than KC and, often, I was Chad's only diehard defender on this blog. But, Chad is not in Favre's league as a QB. Their careers have overlapped as starters since 2002. Favre has been in 3 Pro Bowls and has had 1 losing season. Chad has no Pro Bowls and 3 losing seasons. Chad has missed games in 4 seasons, Favre in none. Chad has thrown 20 or more TDs in 1 season, back in 2002; Favre has done it in 5 seasons. Chad has thrown for over 3,300 yards in 1 season; Favre in all 6. And, if you look at Chad's TD-INTs, it's 80-55; Favre is 155-116...Chad's ratio is only slightly better and skewed by Chad's 2002, which was by far Chad's best season and Favre's 2005, which was by far Favre's worst INT season. I'm saying this because if you start in 2003, Chad goes down to 58-49; Favre is 128-100...Favre's percentage is better and I've included his WORST INT season. The fact is that Favre's the far superior QB. That's no knock on Chad, Favre may be the best ever.

I have to say, the worst part about the Jets isn't their loosing seasons, and it's not their QB situation, it's their fans. What a bunch of classless jerks we are as a whole.
This becamne appearant last year in the first game of the season when we cheered Chad's injury. It makes me ashamed, I'm embarassed for all of us.

Chad has always been great when he's healthy period.
He is the most accurate QB of all time, he has several years left in him.
Brett on the other hand holds the record for most interceptions. Period.

If they sign this Brett it'll be the grand finally of the draft blunders video next year. It'll be the biggest mistake they ever make. It's not difficult to see that it's a terrible idea.
mangini is always harping about ball controll and turnovers, and now they want to sign the man who has ther most interceptions in the history of the game?
Lat year it was the Kendall situation, this year if they sign Brett I'll have to say the problem with the Jets aside from their short memory fans is their front office.

A healthy Chad is significantly better than Brett period.

If the comment about the fans doesn't pertain to you than ignore it. Although if it doesn't you most likely know exactly what I mean.

The Jets by their actions have already shown that they have no confidence in Chad -- He will go down like a house of cards if he is still on the team Thursday night --

JP ..... With reagard to what this FO thinks about Chad, the problem is exactly their thinking. These are the same people who thought last year that Adrien Clarke was as good as Pete Kendall . You cannot trust them..
They inherited a team that went 10-6 and turn it around to 4-12. It was all their fault and now they try to scapegoat Chad.

mets 62- GUess how many playoff games favre has one in the last 5 years, two. Same as chad. Favre is one of the more over rated qbs in the history of football. THis guy makes more crucial mistakes then any qb in history. I Mean if chads team lost at home to the giants last year with a team that one 13 games you would be calling for his head. He choked in that game just like he has done time and time again. The man makes mistakes, this is a fact. Even when he is good. IF we were the lions or someone else that might be wiling to throw the ball 40 times a game fine. We are not. He did not want to come here at first, why the freakin hell would you want him now. So based on your theory that the jets havnt won since 69 And favre won a superbowl 12 years ago, the bengals should be looking hard at him as well, i mean palmer ,what has he done. Where are his rings. The saints could use a guy with a ring, that brees guy has nothing. I mean, i am being sarcastic obviously , but what we have to lose is this- A good freakin year of football, playoffs hopefully, and one to build on towards the future with guys that want to be here. That to me is a lot.

Where you guys get the idea that Favre will take you to the Superbowl. This guy made it there 11 years ago with a SUPER-SUPER TEAM! He is 38.75 years old and plays his own playbook!
If GB had not made it to the NFC conference finals last year, no-one would be talking about Favre. This guy -the two yeras before last -had QB ratings of 70. In other words he was bad!!!
From where you get the idea that he will come here and will play like an all-star? actually this guy can ruin any chance this team may have to go to the SB. You are such CONSUMERS of junk.
