Confirmation on Chad Pennington’s Departure
Posted on August 7th, 2008 by Bassett
Before I got the press conference transcript (will post up next) Jane McManus of the Journal News (who has an AWESOME story on Dustin Keller today) sent me a note last night that Tannenbaum confirmed that the team will be moving Chad Pennington.

I wish we had a chance to say good bye to Chad. I have been critical of him but he pulled this team through a lot.
This guy is a class act! He will be missed.
I agree. It’s a shame he had all the injuries, he could’ve been a heck of a qb if he stayed healthy. As it was, he won some big games for us.
I feel for Chad, too, but am glad we no longer have a QB we feel sorry for. Much prefer a QB that makes us feel better. Martyrs don’t win championships.
I wish they would have gotten rid of Kellen because Chad is definately better. He will be missed greatly!
mr. vol, that makes sense, dump the 24 year old kid with upside instead of the 32 year old often injured class act with the big salary? Slowly step away from the crack pipe….
Chad will be missed, JAGG is right, alot of us have been critical of him lately, but we all the love the heart he showed and the success he had here.
Basset, maybe a post just for favorite Chad memories? I think mine would be the San Diego playoff game when he heaved a 50+ yard TD to Moss and then ran down the field in a flexed bicep pose.
Oh, and he named his son Jameson, and I’m just a big a fan of Irish whiskey as I am of the Jets so Chad will always have a place in heart…..
Chad took a knee for a loss in the Jan 05 playoffs against the Steelers and then clapped like a seal as he threw his kicker under the bus — When the game ended in disastrous fashion he smiled and hugged Steelers players and declared the season “a success” — He then waited a month before having surgery on his torn rotator cuff so he could go on vacation causing him to come back too soon for the 05 regular season and him to get reinjured yet again — He has been a selfish self-entitled jerk who repeatedly blamed external forces and others for his inability to play top-quality football while at the same time smugly called it a privilege to cover him play — His lack of ability tired the Jets defenses, allowed the opposing defenses to put eight in the box thus killing our running game, and caused our wideouts to face career threatening injuries — Chad has been the Jets albatross — Now the Jets have finally dumped him — Good riddance, egghead — Don’t let the door hit you on the way out to Kansas City where you’ll be the Quarterbacks Coach in 2009 –
F THAT STYNE CHAD PLAYED HIS HEART OUT FOR US THATS THE BIGGEST BUNCH OF BS I EVER READ
