Buzz: Pennington to the Dolphins?
Posted on August 8th, 2008 by Bassett
Apparently, Kansas City might think that Pennington will sign with the Dolphins.
The Chiefs think Pennington, who was expendable in New York after the Jets traded for Brett Favre (story, D-7), will sign with Miami. He could get a chance to start for the Dolphins.
There goes my thoughts of Pennington refusing to sign in the division. If he does, I can’t blame him … he just wants to play. Here’s to hoping that the Vikings come knocking.

Of coure he wants to play for the phins he can start there and he can try and stick it to tangini
Parcells wants him for his knowledge of the Jets’ playbook — Division rival or no, if Chad Pennington starts for the Dolphins Sept. 7th that’s a guaranteed win for the Jets –
I hope Chad does not go to Miami for a totally different reason than others. He will get killed behind that young OL in Miami. I hope he goes to Minn where they play in a dome and have a great OL. I wish the guy well but if he lands with Tuna he will be out by week 4. Good Luck #10
Styne,
As usual you make no sense.
If Chad doesn’t start that game then the Jets are doubel guaranteed to win, because he is better then any QB Miami currently has.
how come the jets didint trade pennington they could of got a 4th round pick at least
Think about it. With this move the Jets acknowledged that we don’t think Chad can get it done. He is the poster child for ‘noodle arm’ & is due to make $6M. We gave up a 4th rounder (conditional) for Favre. You think we would get the same value for Chad?
if we wanted to trade chad, it would have had to happen pre-favre phone call. Everyone knew that if we were abou to land favre, it would mean that chad would be cut. Why pay for a couch if you can simply pick it up off the curb?
AS already stated, releasing CP was the most merciful way doing it, this way he can pick his own destiny.
I am and always will be a fan of Chad Pennigton, but Farve is a substatial upgrade, even if it is only for one year will the young QB’s get more experience. I would have prefered Clemens get cut, but that is unrealistic as Kellen is much younger and is one of “Tangini’s” picks. Pennigton is from the Parcell’s regim and has more milege on his tires then Clemens.
In a perfect world the Jets would have been able to keep Chad on the roster, but it was just not meant to be. I hope he does well wherever he ends up, he deserves it.
maybe he will sign on with the Pats and be Brady’s backup so he can reunite with Randy Moss.
I think Atlanta might be a decent fit for him, but the perfect spot would be Minn, good O-Line and playing home games in a dome were the wind cant mess with his passes.
More importantly to Chad in Miami (other than the potential to start) is that the OC is Henning so the learning curve could be very quick.
