I’m guaranteed to be sick of Favre at some point this season.

If we do well, all the credit will be given to him and the “story” will be about how Favre took a ragtag bunch of nobody’s to however far they get. And of course, along the way, we’ll constantly have to listen to the endless banter about favre, and how incredible he is at his age, and how he’s coping with NY, and what he thinks about his new teammates, and how much he probably wishes he was in green bay, – instead of relevant discussions to how the team is playing and what they’re doing well. And finally, there will be the interminable questions about about “is this his last year?”…

and if he sucks, I’ll be sick of him then too.

Vick comes back then all the media attention goes back to the falcons honestly i dont like all this media attention you probably thinking we finally we got the media attention that we were missing for years but come on what did we had to do to get that attention, we had to to get a QB that is bigger than us , alot of these dumb bandwagon fans who know nothing about the jets except favre they are a bunch of idiots , and i presume we are all real fans if we come here everyday and say are opinions in this blog

The more Jets coverage the better. My biggest concern is the last one mentioned. If the Jets make a run this year but fall short, I don’t want to be held hostage by the “will he, won’t he?” soap opera.

Rather be worried about that than who they are going to take with the 5th pick, though.

StuytownKC, Love the questions! I agree all true fans know the answers to those. At least the ones who have been following the team in the last few years. Hence weeding out the bandwagoneers. Depending on the age of the fan, you could go back to the 60′s, 70′s or 80′s to really see how much people know. I have always been a proponent of the notion that if you really love the Jets, you should know your history.
1) Who was the1st member to sign with the team when they were the Titans?
2) Who was MVP of SB III, but what RB should have been?
3) Who was the most prolific WR the Jets ever had from the late 70′s throughout the 80s?
4) Who was the first All Pro RB the Jets had?
5) What “NFL reject” CB caught one of the many key INTs in SBIII?

If you live in NYC, you have no choice but to accept the plethora of Favre coverage. Every single newspaper (including the dozens upon dozens that are not the Post, Times, Daily News and Newsday) will constantly have a column or article about Favre. And I am certainly OK with that. This town has been filled with A-Rod, Isaiah Thomas, Willie Randolph, Tiki Barber, Steinbrenner, the Dolans, Jeter, Coughlin, David Wright and others for so long (even during our 10-6 season) that it practically evens out. I think the attention on Favre will not hinder the team, in that Favre will handle it gracefully and it will inspire players whose names appear below the fold to do all they can to get their names in the headlines. On a Mangini team, that’s a good thing.

Regarding the bandwagoners, I think Bassett and company should compose a random list of questions that we true fans can answer and, in turn, pose to any bandwagoner onsite to remind them of what they are.

For instance, I bet a bandwagoner couldn’t answer any of the following questions:

1. What’s the name of the Jets fullback?
2. Who was the Jets’ 2nd pick in the draft in 2008 and 2007?
3. What QB on the Jets once wore #4 as a starter back in the 90s?
4. Who was Keyshawn Johnson’s first QB on the Jets?
5. For what University did Ray Lucas play before joining the Jets?
6. Who won the last time the Jets and Packers played each other?
7. Who is Fireman Ed?
8. What’s the players’ nickname for Eric Mangini?
9. From what country is Ben Graham?
10. Mike Nugent and Nick Mangold are alumni of what college football giant?

Hnoestly, I was tired of Favremania the second he started reconsidering retirement. Then I got rejuvinated when he got traded to Gang Green. Now I’m tired of all the media coverage again. Let’s just let him figure out the system, make adjustments and play some damn football.
