Ramble-

I didn't see the Cleveland game (no preseason on DirecTV) and I didn't see any write up about Mangold specifically afterwards. How'd he look?

Thanks much.

Matt,

That was discussed at length on the first day of camp when it was reported that Jenkins "manhandled" Mangold. It seems to have already payed off as evidensed by the Cleveland game.

Speaking of upping the ante, I wonder how lining up against Jenkins is going to affect Mangold's play this season.

Just have to throw my two cents in on the "Gate D" uproar because I've had season tickets in that section for ten years now, and I've been out on that turnstyle-thing every time I've gone.
The truth I want Jets fans to know is that nothing has gotten "out of control" and I can personally say that 99.9% of all Jets fans around that area are just hanging around and smiling at the humor in the whole thing. It's always been just a small handful of girls in the upper level that'd get everyone else to chant for them, and of course, they would!
And there has always been at least a dozen security personel standing within the crowd on all levels of the turnstyle, ready to address anyone who got out of hand. But they had NEVER tried to stop it until this article came out last year, which made it sound like girls were being harrassed and foul language was being thrown around, etc. Not the case. Just fun loving people (including plenty of girls!) who are being painted as insubordinate and unruly, when they were never told not to do what they were doing.
Now we'll all have to walk into the stadium seeing some huge sheets hanging from the corners to prevent us from seeing other fans, and we're going to look completely foolish.
Thanks again NJSEA for continuing to provide us with the most half assed stadium experience in the league.
Pretty soon they'll have you all sitting still quietly in your seats because they don't want to bother simply addressing the person who gets too loud one day, and you won't be able to buy a beer because they don't want to bother dealing with the guy who had too much to drink, you won't be able to tailgate because they don't want to have to provide security accross the parking lots...
You know what, I should save my $20K PSL fee and pimp out my living room with a couple of 70" plasmas, full wet bar, 3' wide leather recliners, concession stand... Then you can all come hang out at my place for the games, while we watch the Jets play a sold out game in front of an empty stadium.

I have been a Packer fan for 40 years, but I am taking this year off since I am so incensed with how the GM treated Favre. I did, however, want to make a comment about the baloney in SalPal's book with regard to Favre. Except for the two years where GB went to the SuperBowl, he never had the support around him that the great Lombardi teams had. They were stocked with HOFers, and Brett had Reggie White. Even Bart Starr, who was a fabulous QB, calls Brett the greatest Packer of all. That view is shared by the other stars from the Lombardi era.

Jet fans: Do not think that Brett can win the games by himself--although he will sometimes try. The Packers are a much better team than the Jets with or without Brett. Rodgers will be good but boring, but that is what McCarthy and Thompson want. Brett is always exciting even when he throws interceptions. Just sit back and enjoy the ride and hope that you can convince him to return next year if he stays healthy. He has a God-given right arm and watching him toss the football is enjoyment enough. I hope that the NY media does not turn on him, since he does not deserve it. I hope Jet fans realize how lucky they are.

I agree with the commenter on Cimini's blog saying "Who cares if Favre is overrated?"

I don't care. He is a HUGE upgrade! Loved Chad but I think we might very well find out that we have some talented players on this offense who were in a cage b/c of Chad's deficiencies.

I'm the most pessimistic JETS fan ever, but trading in Chad for Favre was something I got very excited about! It might be naive but I actually think they have a shot at being good with Favre!
