Mike Francessa had a great interview today with Brett Favre and Eric Mangini. Here’s a few good quotes, but if you don’t listen to this interview, you are missing out.
Brett on Mangini’s willingness to learn about Favre’s pasttimes …
“He said ‘Brett I know nothing about fishing, I know nothing about hunting … or creole cooking. But I am on my way out to get a tree stand, an orange vest and a creole cookbook … and we’ll do it together.’ And that’s exactly what he said.”
Brett on tailoring the offense ..
“We talked about how can we simplify it … as a group. I think that the guys had a real good grasp of this offense. and I told Eric and I told Schotty this from day one that it’s a lot easier for one to get on board with ten, than ten to get on board with one.
“That being said, I felt like maybe there were some things that I was successful in the past that I could offer to the team without tearing the playbook up and without going with a new one … I’m working my butt off on it, and we’ll see what happens.”
On steeling himself for the New York fans …
“I’ve been booed in Green Bay, people might not believe it, but it’s true … I know I’ve had a great career in Green Bay. [People] aren’t going to keep cheering because I had a great career in Green Bay.”

Brett provides a candid and straight forward interview that sheds light on his character. This is a complex man that through his answers allows us to better understand the man behind the football player.
His desire to grow and produce results with our team …..to not rest on previous accomplishment speaks clearly as to his professionalism and character.
He will for certain make us a better team.

Brett has character and wisdom that go beyond his image. He will make us a better team.

the more i see Brett the more I like him

Bassett, thanks for posting that. I wouldn’t have heard it otherwise.

I wouldn’t worry about Coles. JC and Keller are going to have better years than Coles.
-
Coles will have a good year and is only a baby when his helmet isn’t strapped on
no worries on the coles front just stay healthy
-
Coles is mad about how Chad’s release was handled.
He’ll get over it. His loyalty to Chad is commendable.
I don’t think anybody can ever question LC’s effort on the football field. He is a quality receiver who will love playing with Brett, and Brett has already displayed the leadership qualities necessary to lead this football team. LC will be alright.
He probably did the right thing not talking to the media and saying something he might later regret.

I think Chad’s release was handled very well: a no-strings-attached release with no hesitation, which allowed Chad the best opportunity to go where he wanted to go. Contrast that with the Packers’ treatment of Favre and the “no NFC North” poison pills they injected into the contract.
I feel like Chad’s release was in everyone’s best interests. -
The only honesty about Favre is… covering his own ..ss; and some of you call this honesty?
The sooner the rest of the team and Mangini learn his playbook..the better they will be.
I love it! If you need a good lough who needs “Tropical Thunder”.
This thing will definitely turn into something At least the season will be interesting.. no mater what.
Either we will be watching football or a deserving comedy. I prefer the later.

Nikolas, the season starts in a couple of weeks, will you be on board with Favre, or will you remain angry and misrable?
-
I’m with Pets57, everyone talks about Coles’ loyalty to Chad, but he’s got nothing on Nikolas.
Have you bought your #10 Dolphin jersey yet Nicky boy?

wow this guy is a really honest guy and i believe he can learn the playbook in time ( all of it) im just worried about big baby coles
