Newsflash: Hall of Famer and NFLPA Head Gene Upshaw Passes Away

Gene Upshaw, has passed away due to pancreatic cancer. Upshaw was the current head of the Players’ Union who had a controversial tenure. This might effect the ongoing labor negotiations as a new head, will likely have new agendas and to assert themselves in the start of their leading the union.

he was a good O linemen but a bad NFLPA now that he is gone we can get a new player and owner agreement done but i didnt want the guy to die maybe just retire

he did a lot for the NFL, thats why it is the most succesful league in America
I saw Upshaw play, many times. He was a force. Oakland had a great line, with T Art Shell and C Jim Otto. When Upshaw pulled, he often pancaked players. He was an easy choice for Hall of Famer. A great loss.
