That’s not fair to BF, the Packers are the ones who wouldn’t let him return.

thats just shamful for a church to comment like that very very distasteful. so what there preaching is that God olnly loves some of us but dont God love all man kind.. On thee other hand god is only in from 10am to 6pm and on wednesdays there intill 7pm …Packer fans had nothing to do with that call bret did not leave he was kicked out by the team he bled for for 16 years and now they say when you retire we will bring you back so we can use you some more.. us jets fan will respect bret a little more than that..packer fans i sure feel your pain (jet fan think about it) but im sure glad to have him

A church official looking for more parishners. It was clever and gave me a giggle. Thanks to ESPN everyone who watched it knows the real story.

    it’s a joke people …

believe it or not, even people who go to church are allowed to tell (and able to take) jokes

  8. avatar PF989 says:

I think its more of a critique on the people of Green Bay who used to half jokingly call Brett Favre “God”

  12. avatar BubbyBrister/shovelpass says:

Hmmmmm, Tannenbaum said to himself, I wonder how many draft picks it would take, and whether God can play on special teams?

  13. avatar All Things NY says:

Agreed, very distasteful that even a church would subconsiously make that comparison.. Favre is no God.

Some of you are saying “jokes”

How about we joke about a minority, is it harmless? Definitely not

  14. avatar Matt says:

    Could not be funnier

  15. avatar All Things NY says:

Life in Wisconsin must be horrible when your life depends on 1 FOOTBALL PLAYER

  16. avatar Drew says:

  17. avatar vbsiena24 says:

All Wisconsin has is football, beer, and church in that order.

  18. avatar billvv says:

Two out of three ain’t bad….

  19. avatar Harvlis says:

I’m hoping God came along with Brett. Just like a religious institution, to string their followers along.

Ha, I live in WI and saw that sign. My brother’s trying to get a picture of it into SI as we speak

  21. avatar RK says:

    And some would say:
“God has already left the Packers.”
