News: “Willie May Hayes” Walks Again
An update from ESPN about former Jets WR Harry Williams Jr., who suffered a cracked vertebrate in his neck last week: Williams has now been able to walk under his own power. Unfortunately, medical experts believe it is unlikely he will ever be able to play football again.
The speedster Williams, was nicknamed “Willie Mays Hayes” by Herm Edwards (after the speedy outfielder from classic baseball movie “Major League”), but the former 7th round pick failed to make a big impact with the Jets.
Nevertheless, we continue to extend our best wishes for continued progress in his recovery.
