Breaking News: Two More Cut
Wave goodbye to Jacob Bender and David Ball. Analysis after the jump.
Ball Bounced:
David Ball becomes the second David Ball to be cut by the Jets in four years, following the former UCLA defensive lineman David Ball. Ball must have realised a while ago that five-or-maybe-six does not go into ten. Although he is skilled, Ball lacks anything in the way of athletic or physical attributes to make him stand out, but did at least score a TD in his final game.
Jets to Bender: Bite my Shiny Metal Boot:
Last year’s sixth round pick, Jacob Bender, had a strange developmental curve with the Jets. Apparently too slow to pass protect at tackle, the Jets moved him inside, where it seemed he was likely to start for the Jets in the opener last season. Then he went through the whole season only being activated twice. Clearly the Jets have seen more immediate potential in the young linemen that they kept, although Bender could still be a practice squad candidate.

No surprises.
true
he was pretty bad in the preseason. He got beat for a lot of sacks and had many penalties.
The Jets should have given David Ball reps at the slot position. He has unbelievable hands and would have been a phenominal target for Brett Favre in the slot. With the right quarterback he would have been a reception machine and would have made a great possession receiver.
