Roster Shuffling: Say it Aint Po…

by Bent on August 31st, 2008 at 6:10 pm

Considering all the “experts” think the Jets suck, it’s interesting how quickly their AFC East rivals moved to pick up some Jets that couldn’t even make the active roster. Of course, they may only be there to share information about the playbook…

Jason Pociask has been picked up by the Pats and Nate Garner was added to Miami’s active roster.

Also, one of the Pats cuts was S John Lynch and Rich Cimini says he’s “hearing” that the Jets might make another run at him. Also from the above link, the Dolphins also picked up guard Andy Alleman off waivers and apparently the Jets had put a claim in for him too, so it seems they aren’t 100% satisfied with their OL depth.

Finally, one of the Jets cuts, C/G Kyle DeVan was apparently told to stick around, so could he be one of the practice squad members?

If the Jets want to pass on Lynch, Adam Archuleta was cut by the Raiders. I guess the Raiders were trying him out at OLB, but he is a safety by trade. ESPN lists him at 215, but he must have bulked up for OLB. I’m sure he could be the big hitter the Jets would need beside Kerry.

I would love for the Jets to get Chad Jackson who was cut by the Patriots and pick his brain on the Pats playbook, he was a 2nd round pick and has size and speed

well i think the jets are gonna go after lynch all over again and im not sure about jackson yea he will be good rat , but do we really need all those WR, we are pretty much set with brad smith and stuckey , and unless jackson can play special teams he isnt worth it , think geting rid of hobson was a bad idea he could have been a good inside LB

the jets should pass on lynch and archuletta ..if u get cut by the raiders, the bears and the rams in 3 years most likely your career is over ..especially the raiders archulettas done and lynch played coverage like roy williams of the cowboys this preseason (sucky) and hit like roy williams of the lions (the dudes a WR for christ sake) lynch is done and should retire with some dignity.

who the jets should take another look at is recently released from the bucs and former pat eugene wilson he was cut for not picking up the system quickly enough and the tampa-2 is way different then the pats/jets system

Kewpie Doll to kjgracey. We don’t need slower, older DBs especially safeties. KJG has it right. If these guys could not make it on other good teams, especially teams that need help, then what good are they going to do for us.

If Lynch couldn’t make it on the secondary challenged Patsies, I surely dont want him on the JETS.

The reason the Pats cut Hobson was that the effort to transition him to ILB was unsuccessful.

Just a thought, but with today’s pass specialists who rush the QB, what’s wrong with Lynch or Archuleta being run specialists and use them when we need to stuff eight in the box?
