While a player is clearing waivers they can be added to another team's practice squad. So while them clearing waivers is not a guarantee of keeping them, it is still a positive thing. If anyone should go onto IR after the season starts, a roster spot will become available and I'd quite like to see Caulcrick get this. (That's blatantly what the Pats are hoping to do with Lynch).
