On the eve of training camp, I asked Darrelle Revis whether or not he and Kerry Rhodes were going to continue their film study with each other Revis answered eagerly that “yes we are going to continue, and yes we are going to add DBs.” Revis noted that he wanted to “get the whole secondary [involved].”
It looks like Rhodes and Revis have gotten their wish. In their fancy new facility, Rhodes noted to reporter David Hutchinson yesterday the following.
S Kerry Rhodes’ film study meetings now include all defensive backs. Last season, it was only Rhodes and a select few, including CB Darrelle Revis. Now, every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday after practice all the defensive backs get together. The location has been moved from Rhodes’ home to the Jets’ sparkling new complex in Florham Park. The players rotate bringing food and drinks.
“I think they saw how the other players got better doing it and they wanted to get on board,” Rhodes said. “That’s a good thing.”
Note to film room rookies, rumor is that Revis likes Tastykakes, but Rhodes is a big Junior Mint fan … they’re chocolate, they’re peppermint … they’re very refreshing!!
It’s fantastic to see a tradition take hold, and we have Jonathan Vilma — who started this — to thank for it.

“…everyone LOVES a junior mint, Jerry…” (from Sienfeld)

I’m glad this is happening. It’s great to be as prepared as possible before the game. Give yourself every single chance to succeed, that’s all you could ask for.
