Start Me Up: Right Guard

Over the next few days, we are going to take a quick look at each and every position of starters on this team.  Now, we’re talking about the offensive line and will work through the rest of the offense and across the ball.

Can you believe it?  The offensive lineman with the longest tenure on the club is none other than Brandon Moore.  A converted defensive lineman project for the Jets, Moore has not been necessarily stellar … but a steady player for the Jets.  Last year, the team ran a lot behind Moore, the only place they could with any success whatsoever, this year, he should be more successful because he won’t be the only play the defense is looking to funnel to for the run.

Although a little undersized, he’s tough and athletic and wins with his effort, technique lower-body strength.  Much more of a technique player than a mauler, it will be interesting to see how he pairs with Damien Woody to his right, who is another technique player — but with more heft — on the right side.

  1. I’m not the only one who expects alot from Moore. Around alot of NFL circles, he is considered one of the top-10 right-guards in the league. They expect a big season from him. Luckily we signed him to an extension before his pricetag skyrocketed

  2. When it comes to line play, imo, a lot of times playing steady is playing stellar.
