On if he is optimistic about the Jets season…
We’re definitely optimistic. This week (is) the first time we had live game action. As Brett (Favre) gets more comfortable in our offense, we’ll get better. We will continue to improve. We definitely left some plays out there on the field, but that’s to be expected in the first game. Also, we’re coming in with Brett and it’s his first game (with the Jets).
On what he saw from QB Brett Favre against Miami that he did not see in the preseason…
He is a heck of a competitor, but just some of the excitement that he shows. You’re used to seeing it on TV, but to be on the field with him and being able to see some of the things that he does – some of the reads. His actual in-game operation is unlike anything that I’ve been around. It’s fun and pretty cool.
On if the excitement aspect is unlike anything he has ever been around…
The excitement and the fee spirit (is unlike anything I’ve ever been around). If something comes in and he’s not sure exactly what it is, he’ll just say, ‘ok do this.’ As opposed to, ‘you’re supposed to do this.’ He’s like, ‘do this,’ and we just roll with it. It’s just a little bit different than what we’re used to.

Baker has twice as many receptions as Coles this season (580% more yardage) –
look,as much as I have been RIDING COLES this WHOLE offseason/preseason,we NEED him to have a GOOD year! in his defense,it WAS his FIRST game situation/speed since LAST year. he did let that ONE rocket pass go through his hands,but we need to give him time(not much)to get up to speed and play to his ABILITY!

The last time I checked the site was called Brian Bassett & Co’s thejetsblog.com; I don’t remember seeing anything about it being called Greenseed’s jetsblog.com. So until it does, please refrain from telling others what they should or should not post about. Besides we play both Denver and Oakland this season, so its relevent to the Jets.

Baker’s hands were better than usual. I would have thrown more to Keller.
Thrown more? Did they throw to Keller at all? Maybe keeping him a secret for this weekend…I hope. Keller is a playmaker so I hope he is given the chance to be so. But sounds like they dont want to overload him, but instead keep him as a trick up our sleeve.
I would love to see him streaking pass some of the Patriots senior citizen linebackers.
Keller did catch a 5 yard out. But it was nullified by a penalty. Why was Brad Smith in so often?

I was watching the Raider game last night while on my favorite web site. Sorry dude but the Chris Baker story was done to death this season and I just don’t have anything to say regarding him.
Except that he will probably have more yards receiving than Coles this year. I doubt if Coles will last the season and he will not be a Jet next year.
Evan – I totally agree. Psycho Keller is/was being kept as a ’secret weapon’. I think Eric didn’t want to show all his cards last weekend. I was happy that Baker (and Bubba) was part of the mix.
