That idiotic play by Jackson cost me 7 big points in my fantasy league (extra point for TD over 50). And if you watched the subsequent TD over-the-top dive afterward, it almost cost the Eagles Westbrook, who nearly snapped his neck doing the flip to get in.

Didn’t Eric Mangini help recruit Brett Favre to the Jets? — Why did he bother? — Has Mangini been taking the ball out of Favre’s hands in an effort to help Laveranues Coles get over the release of Coles’ good friend Chad Pennington? — If Mangini continues to prevent the Jets from putting points on the board then 2008 will go down as the most frustrating Jets season of all time –

Johnny did you expect Favre to come in and throw the ball 35 times a game after being here for 5 weeks? Favre succeeds when he has a good running game. Check the stats 2005, 2006 bad years no running game. 2008 great year, great running game. This offense will open up. To think we would be running on all cylinders by week 2 is foolish.

what idiots the “JET PRESS” is… A hail mary to Cotchery? It’s called a big play, something we havent seen to much the last few years, nothing “hail mary-ish” about a wr beating his man deep and the qb being able to hit him in stride downfield…

I am a lil frustrated as well but comments like that are just ignorant

And if he’s talking about the Stuckey play, then they should at least get the name right to be taken seriously

What with the Stynes of the blog world, I’m thinking of checking out and finding another reason to live. I can’t stand the bizarro world they live in and post from. Two weeks in and people are calling for dumping Favre, Mangini, all kickers, and they’re making the print world look sane! Please. Take a pill. It’s going to be a couple of weeks to JELL. Gel is a hair product.

billvv, I agree Johnny comes from the extreme negative side very often, but at the same time he does provide a balance at times, and can be pretty funny.

This blog would be pretty boring if we all agreed all the time.

This team needs some shock therapy!

    spa,

If it was Tom Brady, it would have considered a great pass or something like that.

But even Brett Favre on the Jets, the pass is considered a hail Mary. Despite the fact that J CO had his man beat by a good 5 yards.

Earn the respect first and then we’ll get it from the media. On the Jerricho play that was no hail mail and any logical football watcher should be able to see that. Comments like that I brush off my shoulder.

Patience Patience Patience!!! Yes Jets fans have been waiting patiently for almost 40 years (ok not so patiently) for a return to championship glory. The 2008 team has significant talent. There are many new players and chemistry will take time to build. While the coaching staff’s track record does not inspire great confidence I think they can at least be credited with belief in their plan and sticking with it in the face of the adversity and a knee jerk media and fan base always questioning them. The 2008 Jets will be a much different team at the end of this season than they are right now. With the unknown variable of injuries that affect every team in the league hopefully this team will set itself up for a playoff run. There will be more struggles ahead. Have faith and PATIENCE, Brett Favre will be fine. Dustin Keller will contribute. Gholston will make some plays. Coles will hold on to the ball. Schottenheimer and Sutton and even Mangini may seem to be stuck in old habits but I think they are trying to build a foundation. There will be a better team down the road. Do not think about past failures. This is a team built to win and if they can develop chemistry they will win more games than they lose and then if they can qualify for the playoffs anything can happen. Let’s hope the Jets can beat the Bills twice or at least split and show up next time against the Pats. Again have patience and get ready because Brett Favre will begin to assert himself, especially against the pass defense challenged San Diego Chargers. No promises of a win and the Chargers are desperate at 0-2. Have some faith and don’t follow knee jerk reactions of the crazy NY media and some fans stuck in the past. GO JETS!

The current posters have restored my faith. Thank you. Now, for a rational look into the future. SD AND Arizona are now looking formitable and I think we need a win in one of these two. Otherwise, I will consider not reading anything online until after the sixth week at Cincinnatti.
