Favre on WR Chemistry
Today, Favre answered the question on whether or not he feels he has chemistry with his receivers at this point.
“The chemistry has gotten a lot better. I would hope it would continue to get better, a lot like the chemistry I had with our guys in Green Bay the last couple years. Of course, Donald (Driver) and I had thrown the ball (together for many years). We had so much success together. This group is more of a veteran group, has been around and knows the game. So I would think the chemistry would come a little bit quicker. In my opinion, it has. The most important stat is wins. What leads to that? Plays obviously.
In the game the other day, there were some plays that I could point to. The pass I threw to Jerricho (Cotchery) that was called back. He wasn’t open, but I felt like from watching him on tape and the little bit of time I spent with him, that our chances were better than theirs if I just threw it up to him and gave him a shot. I actually looked at L.C. (Laveranues Coles) on the same play. The corner was way off. (On) Jerricho’s side it was going to be a jump ball. I felt confident doing that.
Things like that, not that you want to throw the balls up, but I feel confident that our guys can do it, especially in certain situations. The play on the goal line, the touchdown (to WR Chansi Stuckey), was a play we’d been talking about. It was a simple check, audible, or whatever you want to call it, trusting that our guys would get a pick or rub, and it worked. You start coming back to plays like that or you build off of that. You’re able to expand. Also, like the pass to Jerricho, at some point you just say, ‘hey, guys are not going to be open all the time, I got to trust that these guys will make plays.’ I feel confident with those guys.”
That’s good to hear and it makes sense. The more they know each others tendencies, or what’s worked in the past, the more likely it will be for them to hook up on a pass.

WR and QB chemistry will paly key in the SD game , do you know how many passes coles dropped my god , but knowing him he will work on it , well he better considering he just got alot of guaranteed money in the offseason, now is the time to earn it pal, the JETS payed you that money not CP so get used to favre he is hear to stay
Stop doing interviews and go study the playbook, Brett.
Jets 27
Chargers 23
Hey all,
First about the post – Coles is worrying me a bit. Not sure if he is 100% motivated right now and seems still to be frustrated by the whole pennington situation. Cotchery is the man right now and we need to figure out ways to get him the ball. Also, wouldnt mind seeing brad smith get a couple of touches.
Second – I wanted to spread the word about a new venture I started with 2 other Jet fans. THe company is called Tailwaiters and what we do is provide fans in the parking lot with all the supplies they need to tailgate. We dont cook the food for you, but we bring you the meat, grills, chairs, tables, drinks, etc. Then when you are done and want to go into the game, we clean it up for you.
Its a great service for fans who either 1) are too lazy to put together a tailgate; 2) dont have enough trunk space; 3) dont have a car and are taking public transportation to the game; 4) fans who park in the off site lots and get shuttled over
Check out the website if you have time – http://www.tailwaiters.com
If you have any questions, feel free to shoot me an email at Zach@tailwaiters.com
Thanks!
Farve’s QB rating is just above 104. He is not the reason we lost. Can you say kicking game and field position.
Here’s another post for Nikolas to blame Farve. Yeah Nikolas lets start Clemens and try for the number 1 draft pick next year.
Is it me or does Favre always seem to say the right thing?
Farve is the man. Now tell the Jets coaching staff. You can’t beat the Chargers playing it safe. The Chargers can score.
First and goal on the three yard line. Let Farve do what he does.
The Jets/Pats games always have their own dynamic I don’t think it will represent the future for Favre, who has always been a MNF performer.
Anyway, I have created a new company with 2 other diehard Jet fans. Its called Tailwaiters, we bring Tailgating supplies to people in the parking lot. We take the hassle out of tailgating.

Yes, this is a blatant attempt at free advertising. BUt we are big Jet fans and this is a service we think other fans could benefit from.
Pat D…Favre has 104 rating because he has completed more than 33% of his passes to a safety valve RB (Thomas or Leon) who by the way after they catch the ball average less than 3.5 yards.
These are not actual plays..they are plays made by the QB when he is lost and he dumps the ball. This is the last option play and the coaching stuff is accomodating him due to lack of knowledge of the play-book. That is why you can see that the offense has no fluidity and is erratic. In other words there is plenty of “Confusion” and confusion at the HEAD brings stupid penalties and panic.
PS: If you are not convinced check out the Monday night game in San Diego. Moreover, that is why Mangini run three times at the goal line. He does not trust his knowledge of the plays.
how can any “JETS FAN” disslike BRETT FAVRE being our quaterback!!?? even at his age NOW,he is still one of IF NOT the best quaterback we ever had! he has only been with us for a MONTH so a “LEARNING” curve is EXPECTED! on our FIRST drive vs the PATSIES,we moved the ball at will with screens to LEON and GOOD running from TJ….why we got away from that I dont know! also, how COTCHERY only had ONE reception is INEXCUSEABLE…and can we PLEASE use KELLER MORE!! why would we draft him just to leave him on the BENCH!!??
kc:
You are totally out in left field, man !!
Nikolas:
Don’t worry about kc, or pat d they are junk ballers and love the hate Pennington koolaide spewded by their hero Johnny Stynne!!
I’m down with kc, pat d, and Johnny Stynne.
The difference between Pennington and Favre is that passes to a safety valve RB when he has no one open downfield or pressured while Schottenheimer can only call 10-yard pass plays for Pennington.
I’m glad Kellen Clemens gets to be Favre’s protege rather than another season of baptism by fire with Pennington carrying a clipboard. He’s got great potential… when Favre really retires!
