Jets sign punter Reggie Hodges

The Jets have signed punter Reggie Hodges. He is a journeyman punter out of Ball State in 2005. I am sure more information will follow after Mangini’s presser at 10:15am.

  2. I like the way the Tangini addresses special teams issues immediately. Very Parcels-ish

  5. lol any chance we can get a highlight clip on this guy punting?

  6. “Reggie gives us some flexibility with kickoffs, PATs and field goals — he’s functional in both those areas,” Mangini said. “He has the ability to throw the football, which gives us some opportunities in terms of fakes.”

There’s nothing this guy can’t do, huh? Then why was he unemployed?

  7. 38 yard average/31 yard net average. Whoopie.

  8. The swirling winds of the meadowlands should work out great for this guy. ha

  9. Reggie Hodges? I bet he is a good three point shooter.

  10. Oh joy! Functional in all areas instead of proficient in the only one that matters — punting.

One disaster because we kept Huggies and he hurt himself tripping over his a blade of grass and we now have to have a functional punter.

This brain trust lacks one ingredient too. A brain.

This is not adressing special teams issues immediatiely but after the fact.

Funniest line I have read all day.

  13. Pat D, did you call for Graham to be released after the first game? No one did. He had a second poor outing and Mangini tossed him. That’s handling things quickly.

You are right I did not call for Graham to be released after the first game. But after two games I realized the kicking was a problem. This is the same time Mangini realized we have a problem. I live in LA and can only watch the games on TV, read updates on the internet and read Jets Confidential. It seems the coach of the team should spot a problem sooner.

  15. WHEN WILL KNUKLCE HEADS REALIZE THAT IS NOT MANAGEMENT AT FAULT FOR THE EMPLOYEE BLOWING IT, PERIOD. SEE ATTACHED : http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/2008/09/jets_favre_says_coaches_not_ho.html

  16. hank/naples – Exactly! Only a fool would expect a QB to master a new NFL offense in four weeks! Fortunately, since he’s one of the greatest of all time, the result is still much better than that of the QBs on the roster last year.
