King Picks Chargers
Peter King writes his pick in this morning’s MMQB column.
San Diego 29, New York Jets 20.
This is what’s at stake for the Chargers: If they lose, they’re 0-3, in effect, 3.5 games behind Denver, and staring down the barrel of a brutal 15-day stretch starting Oct. 12 — New England at home, Buffalo on the road and New Orleans in London. However, I take issue with the Mike Tirico voiceover that ESPN played 63,423 times over the weekend.
“It’s a must-win game for the Chargers,” Tirico said in the promo for this game. You can’t call this a must-win, not with Oakland and Miami the next two weeks. If the Chargers are 2-3 going into that Pats-Bills-Saints stretch, they certainly could be playing meaningful football in December.
On the Jets’ side, I pointed out in my picks this week that they’re not using Favre yet the way they should. Last year, New York called pass plays on 56 percent of the offensive snaps; this year it’s 50-50 run-pass. That’s got to change, particularly with such a good pair of deep threats in Jerricho Cotchery and Laveranues Coles.

Shocker!
Sorry, what did King say? I was too busy being a lousy fan to pay attention. Jerk.
If we can keep drivings going, everyone will get their share of the pie.
Establishing a run game is top priority at all times.
let farve throw…… and get dustin keller catching more balls. why did we pick him if we dont use him. his speed plus farves arm equals lots of yards
Since when is a 50/50 run-pass ratio a problem? Shouldn’t that keep defenses off balance? Should we have a good running game? This is nonsense.
Once again Peter King proves he is an ass. I would hope his next article is how the classy fans in New England booed it’s 3 time Super Bowl Champs off the field at haltime and left in the 3rd quater yesterday. It’s easy to be a great fans when your winning…..Right Peter??
Peter King = Ass Clown – What makes him a credible source again?

i agree…this scum bucket king scolded us jets fans for not jam packing the stadium for a pre-season game but doesn’t say a word about the worst fans in the league…they walked out on the team that took them to 4 SBs…they have no respect or loyalty to their team… the NE fans are the worst…
Has King ever picked the Jets to win against a “media favorite” team? Maybe he picks the Jets vs. teams that are in the lower end of things, like the Rams, but never a media darling like the Chargers, Patriots, Colts, Giants, Cowboys, even the Raiders….
