Thanks to all those who wrote in today. Atleast we're past the we're sooooooooooooooooooooooo close garbage.

I am a die hard fan who has never posted "get rid of Mangini". But, I am also not a moron who can watch without blinders. I am not a basher (but 5 kickers,4 QBs etc come on) but there is (i think Najy said it) a weird non personality to this team. No spark, something not right. I am glad everybody is worked up because we are all fans, and have our own opinions. But the team has not looked good yet.
I haven't said i had the reason, but there is no doubt this team is not sharp in any aspect of the game. Our personnel is league competitive so what is up?
Maybe we need our bye week to be Week 1 since we seem to only get better after the bye.

Let's see, the Jets go down and beat the Dolphins with no kicker and then lose to the teams that were in last year's AFC Championship Game (and both were facing "statement" games). The Jets are 1-2 and the sky is falling? I'm as concerned as the next guy, but let's see what happens against the Cards. A win and the Jets are 2-2 with 2 of their 3 toughest games in the rearview mirror.

One thing I have learned from watching the NFL for many years is that it usually takes 4 games before anyone knows who is good and who is bad. I read some the reports from San Diego after the game monday and they were happy for the win but the media out ther had many problems with the game the Chargers played. Special teams beakdowns, Phillip RIvers also got away with a couple of balls that could have been intercepted, etc.

Again, we all knew that with all of the new players it was going to take time to jell. Personally, I'm expecting the Jets to look like a real team by the 5th game. If they don't, I'll start finding fault then.

Forget last year Najy. We have different players. And it's not just money spent- Jenkins is a clear stud, Dansby is getting after it, Faneca is a great run blocker and let's still give Favre the benefit to turn it around the next couple of weeks.

My point is let's not hype up Arizona has this world class team. If there is a franchise more pathetic than ours over the past 30 yrs- it's the Cardinals! So, at home, we better beat them because we are the better team...on paper.

Could they come here and win 31-14, sure. But if this team plays to it's capabilities and wants to be taken seriously, we need to win. And not a 20-17 win where Warner had the ball in the last 90 seconds to win.

I want a fist in the mouth, go hard all day kick ass blowout. Sunday Afternoon, I want to feel the excitement we had prior to the Pats game week 2.

Forget what Kornheiser says, this week is Favre's outcoming. 300 yds, 3 Td's, making it look easy. And I want to get after Warner all day long and be so physical that those receivers are nervous to catch the ball.

And as a Jets fan, this is what I need to believe. That despite our repeated mistakes and repreated franchise blunders when it comes to coaches- that this is still our year. That the Jets will showcase what they are made of this weekend and go into the Bye riding high. And after that bye, roll through the next 3 undermatched opponents and get us 5-2 into the game against Buffalo. And I want a statement in that game too- that although good Buffalo, you are too young. And Brett and Co. are here to take back what they started and win this damn division!!

This is what I want. And after 22 yrs of heartache it is sure hard to convince myself of that but I'm going to say it. And although Mangini is a bum and I have my worries, this is why we're fans. To believe. It's 3 games into the season. So, people like Nikolas and Co. can leave the skepticism to the side.

This is the weekend where it begins boys.

J-E-T-S!! JETS!!! JETS!!!! JETS!!!!!

Great now that you showed us how much you despise the Jets and coaches you no longer have to post anything since it would certainly be a waste of your time seeing as though you can't root for them but only against them. This is called thejetsblog because Jets fans come here.

RK-

The Pats receivers get away with holding like a motherf$#@er on their bubble screens. Seriously. It's crazy.

And, sadly, I'm with you on TJ. Though everyone in the league thought it was the steal of the century he just doesn't seem to have much pop or vision at the start of the play.

After watching some of the game on replay I noticed, much like the last game, that the Jets just do not get the calls that other teams get. Just to point out the Gates TD he clearly pushed off, hard, on Lowery and obviously that helped SD. In the first game a holding call on Mangold was invisible. The pass interference and non call in the NE game also pissed me off. Not to harp on that because it sounds like whining but seriously when things like officiating start going your way that is when you turn into the Pats. Maybe with some respect some calls will come but when they go the other way it really stacks the deck.

And regarding Miami, who we did beat twice...they beat NE so any presumptions about who should do what in terms of win/loss goes out the window right there.

I still think the team has talent and the coaching is learning how the new offense works best. The D looked solid though when Jenk was in there so that is an enormous plus. The Jets are stopping the run but if they don't start protecting the routes over the middle on 3rd and long they might as well not show up. I swear I almost smashed the HDTV watching that happen over and over, week in and week out.

The run game is also not bad but this is the first time I am down on T Jones. They said the Bears would love to have him back...but that was before Matt Forte started tearing it up as a rookie. TJ is ok as a workhorse but is by no stretch of the imagination someone who the opposing D worries about. I think the Jets will draft a RB next year wherever they are. Several of the RBs drafted this year are sensational talents...where has Keller been? I know he can be good but if he doesn't get the ball what a waste.
