They seemed to look the same at the beginning of last year. They did get better physically down the stretch. We didn't win but they weren't too exhausted to run off the field. I noticed too that in every game so far, the defense has looked absolutely gassed going into the 4th qtr. Also, everyone is bashing Thomas Jones for his lack of running stats and hussle, and lauding Jenkins for the blocked FG. The D shut down the run for 3 quarters against both teams but obviously tired out in the 4 quarter due to being on the field for so long. If we were to draft a guy who could make an immediate impact like Reggie Nelson did for Jacksonville last year or even Laron Landry for Washington, Our defense would jump to one of the best in the league.
