Eastside: Dreams of Eric Coleman do not dance in my sleep.

If we are going to the past, Jim Hudson is the type of safety I would want. A strong TE able to take out the best tight end of his day (most folks here forget Mackey).

Kerry needs someone to partner with who is not as dumb as Elam, slow as Smith (both in speed and reaction), and who is harder hitting than Barrett, etc.

Another Tangini failure is that there is no one on the roster or practice squad who slightly resembles such a player. Eric and Mike you should be atoning for this sin of omission this week.

That thing about malicious intent really shouldn't stick. Several sports writers are giving Smith a negative reputation he really doesn't deserve. I really think he was trying to make a play on the ball and wasn't expecting Rhodes' hit.
Nevertheless, is anyone else wishing we still had Erik Coleman?

Billvv is right. Eric needs to appeal and demand a review on intent based on Kerry's setting up Anquan for a helmet to helmet hit.

Otherwise, in this new NotFootballLeague, Eric could get an undeserved reputation (too bad actually it is undeserved) as a hard hitter likely to injure others.

The good news is that if his appeal loses, we still get to have him inactive for a game.

I'd be afraid to get tagged for that hit without an explaination. It should be reviewed before they make players afraid of contact that might cost them their reputation to say nothing of the cost. If you remember the 'catch and release' that happened to the Giants, I think, two years ago, this would add to a chilling effect toward contact plays. On other posts the bloggers wanted a year suspension and such. You might as well play flag football if that happens.
