RE Wildcat
I remember a quote several years ago attributed to Daryl Royal when asked about his famous Wishbone offense: “You don’t want my offense, you want my fullback” [Earl Campbell who was a good pro but a helluva a college RB].
Ronnie Brown was the number two pick in the entire NFL draft because of his skill set. Williams is a starting caliber big back in his own right. The reason this offense works is because of the talent unique to Miami.
The key to offensive football is to get better talent and use it effectively. Simms is right that other teams will not copy the Wildcat. He is wrong about the reason. Except for perhaps Oakland, no other team has the personnel to implement this offense (a RB who is big, strong, fast and can throw; another big back to can keep defenses honest; and a QB who is not a top 5 QB whose hands it would be stupid to take the ball from). Luckily for the league, Al Davis would never copy another team.
