Injury Report: Calvin Pace Listed, Burgess Out?

Overall, the Jets injury report looks good, David Clowney is making his way back and participating more in practice, Justin Miller has not been limited and Coles and Jenkins remain limited. What was worth noting is that now both the Jets starting OLBs Calvin Pace and Bryan Thomas are listed on the report. Calvin Pace’s injury is noted as ‘foot’ but it’s unclear what with the foot is exactly ailing him. Keep an eye on how this progresses.
As far as the Raiders, both CB Nnamdi Asomugha and DE Derrick Burgess have been listed, with Burgess’ chances of playing less than Asomugha’s. Burgess didn’t play last weekend against the Saints, and the Raiders pass pressure suffered for his absence. Even so, I expect the team is holding Burgess back and could play come Sunday, but the SacBee thinks otherwise if he doesn’t practice today.
Defensive end Derrick Burgess (right triceps) sat out practice. He has not practiced since Oct. 6 when he aggravated the injury. If Burgess doesn’t practice today, he isn’t likely to play Sunday.
Derrick Burgess has something of a history with hitting Favre below the knees, so I hope the refs keep an eye on that if he does end up playing.

Football Outsiders often gushes about how dominant Asomugha is so it would be HUGE if he didn’t play.

I have huge reservations re: our injury reports. This is a physical sport, therefore we there must be bump and bruises. We treat therse guys like whimps for the sake of safety? What about boxing, what about wrtestling, what about Karate? Should we limit every athelete at the first sign?
