The monster contract, which makes Pace one of the highest paid linebackers in NFL history, will pay out $26 million in its first three years. Looking forward to his performance, though I don’t know much about him. Cool widgets at statbeast.

Anyways, looking forward to tommorrows game, I am very excited but also very cautious. I am glad to hear that the Jets are not taking the Raiders lightly as they have played better than what their record shows.

The keys to the game is the same as every other game…

1.) Stop the Run, these Raiders have a legitamit 3 headed running back corps and must be respected.

2.) 1st quarter all out attack on QB JaMarcus Russell. He doesn’t have confidence going for him right now, and hopefully we can keep it that way from the start of the game. We need hit him often and early and have him afraid to step up in the pocket.

3.) Establish a running game before attemping to air it out with Brett. Shotty is a decent signal caller, but make no mistake, he has commitment issues with the run game.

Definitely agreed, alot of these so-called experts were skeptical about Calvin Pace and the contract he recieved from the Jets.

Although I didn’t know much of Calvin Pace’s style of play I was sure that he would be an impact player. The reason I was so sure of that is because Bill Parcells was going after the guy, and we all know we can trust Parcells judgement involving players, esp. 3-4.

Also want to note, If the Dolphins picked him up, it would have been ANOTHER GREAT MOVE by Bill Parcells, but because the Jets picked him up, experts are skeptical.

I loved it when we picked him up, more so after I read his first interview about finding his niche last year as OLB and loving to rush the edge. Was a bit nervous about his lateral (lack of) preasure and spin moves, but still felt he would be a huge addition to our sack total and stout defense.
A permanent piece to our future SUPER BOWL defense……. Mark my words, VG will not be far behind.

Agreed, signing Pace was brilliant. The more we know about him and the more we see him play, the more we like him. Its been a while since we’ve had a linebacker who can shed a block and make a tackle behind the line of scrimmage. Not only can Pace do that, but he can rush the QB and drop into coverage. Great signing Tangini!
