Cotchery Might Be “Game-Time Decision”

Jerricho Cotchery told WFAN this morning that he was injured (unspecified, of course) during the loss to Oakland last weekend and that if he had to play today, he would be a “game-time decision … if there was a game today, it would probably be up in the air.”
Cotchery did note that he hurt himself in his only reception of the game, and declined to disclose what exactly was hurt. NJ.com’s M.A. Mehta seems to think it’s a leg injury.
Cotch also notes in the interview that Brad Smith would likely be his replacement. Pay attention to see if summer phenom WR David Clowney gets activated as well as the WR pool might be a man shorter than normal.

I enjoy watching some fans on the Jets blog tear up the coaching staff with their comments, pretty soon they will start tearing up players around FARVE. Soon our team will be teared up and what fans are these? Yes, they are Jets fans, the ones who lay down for BRETT FARVE. He is the DEADLY DISEASE we must erradicate him as he is bring more attention onto himself then attention to mangini who he should respect, listen and not walk over.

I dont understand how it is so for hard for you to see that FARVE doesnt help the team anymore than Pennington from the football side right now. In fact he is delaying the progress of the offense and hindering the performance of the rest of the team by being so self-centered about himself with the records he has on the line.

Do you think that Cowher knows the Jets?? I mean what will he build right now that Mangini hasn’ t. Mangini’s philosophy is that the team will get better every day in practice by working on the mistakes from the days before and isolating the weakness and improving on them. This is what Cowher will likely do to the Jets. Mangini has shown some traces of emotion so far but with this loss last Sunday I expect that he will have his team more prepared against Kansas City and hopefully the bloodbath that will be in Buffalo. Cowher is not an immediate solution just like FARVE. We need to go back to the ways of 2006 which is Mangini’s blueprint for success. I don’t care that players like Coles speak out and complain. He was a captain for a reason.
I want to see FARVE retire for one day. Just one day. Give Mangini something to chew and then change his ways to the way he brought success and that was in 2006. MANGINI PLEASE GO BACK!!!!!!

Mangini vs Cowher..give me a break…you are showing your ignorance here. Cower will bring back respect..something this team does not have for the ball boy. Tuna has proven what can be done when the tean respectst he coach. Same goes for Billy B in NE.
Why did Eric not have the team not prepared for the Radiers???
As for Coles he finished… let him go to Miami and hang with Chad..who will be sitting within the next game or so.

You mean that FARVE is a rookie, or that he is retarted?
I mean this is the GREAT BRETT FARVE who knows more and has more experience than Mangini ever had.
FARVE is calling the plays for the play selection but you like everyone else blames the coaching staff ?

Funny how Clowney can make believe he is Ocho Cinco and then Ronald Curry the last 2 weeks in practice but is unable to get activated to actually be David Clowney is the damn game?? Get this kid on the field already. He is a legit deep threat and gives us actually speed at the position. So tired of seeing our WR’s have to fight for balls because of zero separation…… As much as I like B Smith he is a big possesion guy not a guy that can get away for the DB.

In your infinite wisdom what do you think would have happened if Chad Pennington was still with the Jets and the record of the team with him now (3-3) was the same as FARVE’S ?
Also amazing how Coles is finished in some fans mind but everyone was throwing him flowers 2 weeks ago after he dismantled the Cardinals?? Also I love how the Mangini bashers forget that the play book has been dummied down for Favre not the other way around. The are calling plays that are installed for him. Maybe Favre has a little more to do with the stagnant offense than meets the eye

the jets have great depth at the receiver position, a cannon at QB a pretty good O-line, a decent running game but they still throw the ball at the line of scrimmage. there is 1 way to fix this

Fonzie u need to settle down with the Favre hating. Your comparing a downfield passer to a game managing quarterback. You cant use a .357 magnum like a beebee gun. The jets dont run dig routes or deep comeback, even double move routes. All there stuff is drag, bubble screens and the occasional slant. three yard slants at that not even 7 yards to to try and put the ball down the field. Favre does not trust the scheme bc its coming from a schottenhiemer who is younger than him telling him to do things this way , after he holds most all time passing records doing things in that west coast offense. If holmgren or andy reid were calling the plays with the talent they have, totally different story. NO RYTHYM NO FLOW SCHOTT”S GOTTA GO. Favre is great but the jets are too scared or i guess just dont know how to make big plays.
I have been a firm believer in mangini for awhile now and i swear he will lose all of my support and most likely everyone elses if we dont beat the damn chiefs on sunday. Mangini must go if we dont win sunday!

Lets go on record, I was not high on the Favre pick up put do feel the Jets are better with him than Chad.
Lets go on record that I do not believe in this coaching staff…either on O or D. with that said it is the responsibility of the HC to sink or swim with them. He is sinking!!!
Being a true JETS fan, I will pull for them every Sunday just as I have since the days of Joe Willie… I can count on one hand the number of games I’ve missed since than.

I think fonzie is asking two fair questions that you and all Farve supporters/CS bashers are totally avoiding:
1) Is Farve allowed to call his own plays/audible even after Mangini dummied down the playbok for him? If yes why is the CS blamed for the terrible play calling?
2) What do you think would happen to Chad if he had remained with the Jets and his performance and won/lost record was the same as Farves 3-3?
I mean, ask yourself and all Farve supporters these questions and try to answer fairly.
