Coles Is Likely a Go

Laveranues Coles was listed as probable for the game tomorrow, which is a likely sign that he will be playing for the Jets come Sunday.  Cotchery is listed as questionable as well, but both receivers should see time on the field.  That said, look for them to get a limited number of reps and the Jets offense to shuttle in Chansi Stuckey, Dustin Keller and Brad Smith more.

  1. I love Coles and I don’t like being negative but, when a player gets a concussion every time he gets hit in the head…..

  2. Coles is a tough dude, and he has taken some serious hits in the past, but in my opinon he needs tommorrow off. I do understand that we are thin in the receiving core this week, but if coles is still on cloud 9 and takes a solid hit, we could be looking at much more than a week ot two on the sidelines. Since we are playing KC this week we can afford to have him recover and let some of the young guys( Stuckey, Keller, Smith) get some much needed reps.

  3. Perfect opportunity for Clowney to strut his stuff.

  4. I was just watching one of the Saturday NFL shows and they stated that the JETS coaching staff is holding back Favre and the JETS Offense. They also said that if the coaches don’t find a way to turn Brett loose, there will be JETS coaches fired.

    DUMP MANGINI, SCHOTT and SUTTON!!!!

  5. It is irresponsible for the Jets to let Coles and Smith play. That kid who died in Montclair NJ was medically cleared to play 3 weeks after his concussion. This is not Coles’ first concussion and it is medically documented that it takes you longer to recover after each concussion. The mere fact that he hasn’t had headaches, etc., is no excuse for common sense.

What does it take this league to get more serious abou head injuries? Anyone with a concussion shoudl be forbidden to play the next week. It’s great that guys are competitors and want to be out there. But good judgment should prevail.

How do you feel about head injuries in hockey? Impacts (ice) are more severe but less is said.

  7. I agree that hockey has a problem, too, but football’s is worse. The players have gotten signficanlty stronger and faster in the last ten years or so.
As a more high profile sport, football is in a better position to take a strong stance.
But yes, I agree, how Eric Lindros was allowed to play so quickly was a shame.
