Bassett…I see it differently to you. I don’t think Henry will ever beat out Wright because Wright is not WR#6, he’s ST#1. Just like Carroll, Miller and Spencer, he doesn’t have a role other than on special teams, except as an emergency or in garbage time.

Henry should improve on the taxi squad and fight to make the team next year (or maybe even in two years) but his main competition is going to be Smith, Stuckey and Clowney, I think. He needs to bulk up, I reckon.

If Woody had money as his main interest he wouldn’t own an NFL team. He’d have used his inheritance to run an investment banking operation trading credit default swaps for huge profits and then gotten bailed out by taxpayers when the well ran dry.

I totaly agree that its us, the fans, at are to blame for spoling the owners. Believe me I know how it hurt to give my back incredible loge season package @ shea in protest. However I disagree with you, This guy Woody had $$$$$ as his main iterest first, not the players, not the team trust me. Maybe Tangini did, not that Woody guy.

Bubby, the whole financial crisis we are in has shown me that people in power/ with great wealth, really think the rest of us are idiots. From the politicians to the corporate bigwigs, and Wall St people, it just amazes me how smug, arrogant, and how confident that they are untouchable, is unbelievable.

I agree with you Pete, on both topics. I like Cummings too. Didja read Newsday’s take on the StubHub auctions? They make it sound like its an indesputable SUCCESS! And Woody even has the nerve to say that adding Favre for PSLs sake had never entered his “brain pattern”. huh? This guy is a business man who tried to snooker Manhatten to pony up a stadium for him, and he had an economics professor, months ago, assess the validity of the auction process during a tough economy, but we are to believe that it never occurred to him that Favre might help with the PSLs? He really must think us Jets fans are fools…

Hank, is it possible that Woody really felt that Favre was an upgrade at QB, while at the same time it made financial sense? A win-win? As a businessman, isn’t he supposed to make money? Of course he is. And of course 99.9% of the world thought the Favre pick-up was a no-brainer, so why so angry with Woody? All sports/ entertainment is out of control financially, and I blame the people who pay. I used to be a season ticket holder, but no longer. I’ll go to a game once in while. I love the Jets and football, but I’m not going to contribute to the purses of these people. I rarely go to the movies because of how much the tickets are. It is the fans who are to blame for the high cost of entertainment.

I would love to see Cummings get a shot. Loved him in pre-season. I think the Jets feel they need to get a running back to replace Chatman. If TJ got hurt in a game, we would be forced to use Leon as the every down back, putting him in danger of serious injury. Don’t think the Jets would want to put him in that position. He’s too valuable. So I definitely think a RB will be added. Are they comfortable with Caulcrick running the ball 4-5 times a game? What’s Musa Smith up to? The other spot will obviously be a LB or TE. This will depend on whose injury is worse, Baker or Harris.

Two comments:

1) Couln’t happen to a better guy. What goes arround comes around. Woody will always remember the guy he threw under the bus for a few PSL’s.

2)Caulcrick hands down.!! I’ve liked this kid from first day. I liked his story, his conviction, his character, his powerfull running style and he will get you the tough yards. Mangini has to give him a shot !!!

all things. marcus henry might be, but wide receivers need time to develop. there’s too many full spots ahead of him on the roster as it now stands. he needs to beat out someone like wallace wright first.
