Hey Harvlis,

Don't you think Schotty is thinking the same way? Are you okay? We dont have dummies for coaches its just that FARVE makes the final decision on the field and in the offensive meetings before the game he heavy influences the plays that are about to be called on Sunday. I mean did we ever use the five wide receiver set with Pennington or Clemens last year? FARVE has made his pass plays famous and everyone here marvels him for it. This is not the team for FARVE. He wont adjust to the Jets.

FARVE SHARE THE FOOTBALL!!!! SHARE THE FOOTBALL!!!!

The solution to our Offensive woes is very simple. Establish a running game, which slows down the pass rush, which gives Favre time to set himself, which makes him more accurate. Shott has to wake up. We have the talent, now we need the coaching. If our coaches continue to waste the talent we have on this team -- they must go. Bill Cowher is looking better every day.

Great. Mangini addresses question regarding HOF QB Favre's decision making in presser, using a poker analogy of stay on twenty and now we have the best and brightest beat writers hemorrhage the story ad nauseum - perfect!!!

Fools for writing this bullspit and think anyone's buying this bullspit. Favre is a weapon which make us better - period. He gives us the best potential to win this year and hopefully next... and that includes Powder Puff Pennington and his league leading QB Passing Percentage - handing the ball off to Ronnie Brown for a wiildact toss.

Jets and Clemens will be better today and tomorrow with Favre. Jets beat writers can kiss my a$$!!!!

Sackdance 99;

Just want to say that you really amaze me with your stats. However kc's point, i think, ia that faves INT's is nothing to be proud of and only in NY he would get a pass on. Every place else outside of GB ( I'm not too sure today) he would be run out of town. !!!

The Jets have lost seven interceptions and two fumbles the last three games while opponents have lost no fumbles and been picked only once. That has produced a minus-8 margin for those three games and a minus-6 (tied for 28th in the NFL) for the year.
Year Team TO Margin Record Final Marg. Final Rec.
2004 Green Bay minus-8 3-4 minus-14 10-6
2004 St. Louis minus-6 4-3 minus-24 8-8
2005 New England minus-6 4-3 minus-6 10-6
2005 Washington minus-9 4-3 plus-1 10-6
There's also this: Seven previous times in franchise history the Jets were minus-6 or worse after seven games. Their best records were 2-5 in both 1962 and 1975. This year, of course, they're 4-3.

When the visiting Jets step onto the field against Buffalo on Sunday, they will find themselves in a situation they haven’t been in since Sept. 22 at San Diego.

They will be underdogs.

Yes, it’s true that an artificial numeral made up and refined by a bunch of numbers-crunchers in Las Vegas should have no bearing on the matchups on the field. But even if they don’t know what the point spread is, players realize there are games the public expects them to win, and games the public expects them to lose.

Sometimes the games you’re supposed to win can be the toughest of all, as the expectations begin to weigh on the favored team, while the underdog can play with so-called house money. That could explain the near-upset of the Jets by woeful Kansas City on Sunday.

Thus, maybe the Jets will be unburdened this weekend against the Bills, knowing that many observers don’t think that highly of them after their lackluster October against the dregs of the NFL. Buffalo (5-2) is tied with New England, one game ahead of the Jets in the AFC East. The Bills are 3-0 at home, but have yet to play a team with a winning record there.

hank/naple,

I just put in "young" because Edwards is young. The real issue is that 11 INTs is a big number, no matter whether your QB is 25 (Namath, but with the knees of an 80 year old man) or 39. It's way more than the 7 that appears to have guys like Cimini frothing at the mouth, and Namath lost 2 of those 3 games and 2 were upsets.

As for our "wager," we would have to agree on which numbers. I guess you mean Chad and Chad's big number is QB rating. Favre will end up leading in yards, TDs, wins and INTs. They will be real close on completion %. IMO, Pennington will probably have the statistically superior season as judged by the guys who do stats for a living, so what? Most stat guys, like Football Outsiders, ascribe such a negative to INTs that Favre would be lucky to crack their top 10, even if he tosses over 30 TDs and wins 10 games (right now Favre is ranked 22 by FO; Chad 6). The only number that means anything to me is wins. Is that the wager you want to make?

Here's a fun stat fact for you, there has only been one QB in Jets history that has tossed 20 INTs and completed over 60% of his passes: Ken O'Brien in 1986. The most frustrating Jets season ever.

I think FAVRE wants better protection from his line and for SCHOTT and MANGINI to make better choices on their offensive strategy.

Sackdance 99:

I agree with most of what you say but remeber that you and I have a wager as to what QB has better stats at the end of the year.

The proble with your argument above is that you classify the quote with "Young" QB. If you are referencing quotes dont change it to suit your argument, kc never mentioned the word young.

What would Cimini say if a young QB threw 11 INTs in 3 games, including 3 for pick 6's that resulted in 2 upset losses? I guess Cimini would bench the bum. Think of how Jets' history would've changed when Namath did just that in a 3-game stretch in 1968.
