DE Schobel, WR Reed & RG Butler Out

by Bassett on November 1st, 2008 at 11:38 am

The Jets will be facing a Buffalo team that won’t have three of it’s regular starters ready for the game.  WR Josh Reed, DE Aaron Schobel and RG Brad Butler are all out with injuries

Josh Reed (26 rec 288 yds) hurt his right ankle and Achilles’ tendon in the Bills’ loss to Miami last week, so look for  Roscoe Parrish and rookie James Hardy to play in his place.  For the Jets look for Dwight Lowery to pick up these assignments most of the game.

Lineman Brad Butler sprained his left knee during Buffalo’s win over San Diego two weeks ago while Schobel injured a ligament and bone in Buffalo’s game against Arizona Oct. 5.

Jason Whittle will get the start for Butler.  Whittle did have some trouble with Miami’s DT Randy Starks last week, so look for the Jets to try and shade Kris Jenkins towards his side.

Ryan Denney will replace Schobel.  Denney is a solid backup, but at 6’7″ he has long arms to keep blockers at bay but with the size, he can get in trouble if he plays too high.

If the Jets or Jet fans feel that we have any advantage due to these injuries — it doesn’t work that way. This will be a tough game. Only a complete team effort will get us a W. If we get the same coaching that we have seen, to date, we will get our butts whupped.

Coaching, coaching, coaching. Our defense must show up and pressure, pressure presure, and our HOF QB must play within the game plan , even if conservative, to contol, control, control the ball. Then and only then we will make some noise in our division. Word to the wise…’gunslinger, don’t take your guns to town’.
