On how it feels to have a share of first place in the AFC East…
It feels good to be in this position, but we still have a lot of football left. We’re not really thinking about that much.
On the feeling in the locker room after eight games this year as opposed to last year…
Our record is better (than last season). That makes all the difference in the world. When you’re winning football games and you’re above .500, it makes you a lot more optimistic about the season. It gives you a lot of energy in the locker room. You’re definitely more energetic about practicing and getting ready for the game.
On the last offensive drive of the Buffalo game…
We knew we had to run the clock down. We were able to get some decent runs. We were able to execute the plays that we had drawn up. Everyone did a great job on each one of those plays to put us in a position to get the field goal.
On what he was thinking on the third-and-one when he made the reception for a first down…
I knew we had one yard. I was thinking that if I could at least catch it and get some lean room forward, I could fall for a yard. I fell on top of a guy, so my knee wasn’t down. I was actually able to get a yard and a half. That was a pretty good play on that drive, to keep us out there on the field and not give them a chance with the ball.
On the St. Louis Rams having upsets over two winning teams…
We’re not looking past any team. The St. Louis Rams have some great players on their team and they’re capable of winning football games. They won against Washington, who everyone expected to win. We don’t take anyone for granted. Even the Oakland game, we didn’t take Oakland for granted. They came out and played well. We didn’t execute and had some tu

No hes not a genius, and Thomas Jones is one tough football player, he brings it every play, every down. Guy is a winning player
