Buzz: Adalius Thomas Out for Remainder of Season?

by Bassett on November 10th, 2008 at 10:18 am

ESPN’s Michael Smith has reported this morning that New England OLB Adalius Thomas is likely out for the rest of the season.

Linebacker Adalius Thomas, who has started all nine games for the Patriots and is tied for the team lead with five sacks, suffered a broken left forearm in the first half of the Patriots 20-10 win, according to sources. The sources believe the injury is likely season ending.

“It’s not good. He’s probably done [for the season],” said one source.

Thomas is a versatile and critical piece of the Patriots defense. Somehow the Patriots keep losing players, but credit to them as they continue to win. If Adalius Thomas is out, this likely would mean that Pierre Woods or maybe even DE Jarvis Green will see more time in his place. Thomas’ bookend, Mike Vrabel only has two sacks on the season, and this might limit his rush even more.

Thanks to John G. for sending this in.

    BYE BYE ADALIUS

The time is now. The stars are aligned in our favor. This franchise has the opportunity to take a giant symbolic leap. If we don’t overtake the Pats this Thursday, it’s going to be a bitter pill to swallow. I think we’ll get it done, provided that the referees don’t sandbag us like they did in Week 2.

    Oh well.

i know it’s wrong to be happy when another human being gets hurt…..but…..he IS a patriot..right?

  6. avatar spent says:

It’s only wrong if it’s a human being.

With or without Adalius the Jets would win. They are finally comming together as one and playing well. As long as Farve doesn’t start again to “hit on 20″ and stays within the game plan our chemistry will bond stronger and we can kick some serious butt. The only probem we may have is the Titans D because of Farves penchant for the Gunslinger and guaranteed int’s. Keep sharing the ball Farve. I know it’s hard but stay within the game plan.

hank/naples – How in the world can you be overlooking the Pats and alreading be thinking about the Titans??? Your like the biggest jinx I’ve ever seen.

I am calling for a complete elimination of all references to the Titans on this web site until Late Thursday night!!

    Are you with me people?

  9. avatar john r says:

    thank god he is out,
he is a beast in the middle

  10. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

Nick I AM 10000000% with you. He is the biggest jinx, his football statements come from another planet and nobody listens to him anyway. Its not Favre, its a combination of an NFL caliber gameplan, balance on offense (yesterday 1st 7 poss. 19 run 17 pass), eliminating false starts and holding penalties and Brett being more careful with the ball.
The pats will miss Thomas because Pierre Woods has to replace him and their front seven has given us such a hard time these past few years. The drop off against the run and as a pass rusher will be tremendous
This is the game as Jet fans we should want more than any. They have stolen our lunch money for years now, disrespected our head coach, and ruined our season opener creating doubt and frustration. I really want to put a hurtin on this team, smack em around real good and knock cassell out. NO TITANS, NO JINXES AND BAD KARMA, LETS GET IT DONE THURS!!!

  11. avatar sjfalcon2001 says:

Here’s to hoping our suddenly hungry defense makes Cassell eat a lot of dirt on Thursday!!

And as for Thomas, he is a big loss for the Pats. Let’s just hope that with all the injuries, Favre doesn’t give it away.

  12. avatar nyckage says:

if we dont win , with thomas , brady, harrison, and alomost all their RB’s out , oh man i dont know whta i will do

  13. avatar BubbyBrister/shovelpass says:

Jets need to get a big win on Thursday…but I wouldn’t mind them scoring an “eff you” touchdown late in the fourth quarter similar to what the Pat’s did to just about everyone last year!

MY one shot at fame and you credited me as John G.
I could deal with Jon G, Jonathan G, “or El Duderino, if you’re not into the whole brevity thing.”

  15. avatar jet4lif says:

We not only want a good win but we need to put these guys down, like put a scare in their minds.
I wanna see good hard sacks on Cassell.
I wanna see strong hits on Welker in the middle.
I wanna see Moss jammed on the snap.

I’m so looking forward for this.

    Nick:

I’m not overlooking the Pats, I said with or without AT the Jets will finally pay back alot of hurt this Thurs !!!!

I’ll tell you what looking ahead is: Last Sept. I wrote that Miami had picked up Matt McChesney from the Jets for their practice squad and he might come back to bite us in the A$$.
Guess what? They have just signed him to their active roster and this Sunday Miami ran over him for a critical fourth down fourth quarter pick up. They are very high on him. This is a high motor, intense, physical guy. It will be interesting Dec. 28th.

Hank/Naples can’t get past the fact that the week armed Chad Pennington was replaced by a real QB in Brett Favre. He never passes up a chance to critisize our new QB, and I suspect, he secretely wishes bad things to happen to BF, just to prove his point.

As Hank is from Naples, Fla, he also never passes up an oppurtinuity to mention the Dolphins, as evidensed by his last post above. Hank is a cancer to this site and to the Jets!

  18. avatar dfb5447 says:

the pats age is catching up to them, and i love it! we have the best young defense in the league in my opinion (harris, lowery, revis, pace, and maybe even gholston soon ) and the pats seem to be aging like crazy. Bruschi, Rodney Harrison, and Moss need to consider the state of their 401k. Kick em while their down Jets, cause this is the start of a new era. The jets are blossoming and the pats are dwindling.

  19. avatar hank/naples says:

    ramble914:

” …Secretely wishes bad things to happen to BF, just to prove a point? Bad things to happen to BF? Wishes? What do you think 300 INT”s are? Good things?

  20. avatar hank/naples says:

    ramble914:

PS. : ” Weak armed Chad Pennington ” threw a 34 yd TD bomb right at the start of the game, 50+, I said over 50 yards in the air. Weak armed?

  21. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

Int’s are part of the game, it’s touchdown to int ratio that is the most important stat to coaches and gm’s. Also when you have the most pass att’s in NFL history, int’s happen. Chad needed a trick play and a huge catch by Ginn, when he throws a 15 yard dig route on 3rd and 9 through coverage like Brett did to J Co sun, you’ ll have a leg to stand on
