Gadies and Lentlemen:

This is why you don’t abandon your schemes when you take over a new team as coach … you need those who will eventually fit and thrive in the system to stick around (Rhodes, Harris, Revis, even a Barton or Ellis), and you need to slowly replace those who don’t fit the system (like, unfortunately, Vilma & Co.).

Those who were held over from the transition period now are fully versed in the defense, and they’ve added some of the remaining chips needed to make the system work.

If Mangini played the 4-3 for the past 2 seasons while he waited for his Jenkins and Pace to arrive, they’d all be learning it right now, no?

I’m all for optimism. What I don’t like is these writers making it out that it’s win or else. That Mangini needs this one like no other this year or it’s doooooom. You’d have to conclude that the writers don’t like Mangini. Why else would you paint such a drastic picture? If the Jets win, it’ll just be the next week against the Titans. All I can hope for is to make the playoffs. By then we will have the team we need to take it all. These guys are GOOD.

Im not trying to sound over-confident guys, but come on, we all know that this team is overloaded with talent, we should beat these teams. Lets go Jets, its time to make it to a superbowl, im not sure but… i think its been a while, right?

Well said last paragraph on how one thing connects to another and leads to the making of an overpowering defense. Mangini and Tennenbaum (sp?) had a plan, and they went out and got the players who can execute it. They’ve done it across the board. We not only have a team, we have a smart organization.

Hey, it’s great to see that we are getting this kind of pressure. It doesn’t always have to result in a sack or a fumble to be a successful play. A third down incompletion, I’ll take any day. Kudo’s to the defence for stepping it up! This defence has skill and has played really well together, They just need to keep improving and improve be the hottest team in the NFL come playoffs. By the way, K. Jenkins #77 is the man, by far the best offseason accusation.

Those are amazing stats. You rarely get to see all the teams lined up like that. I love seeing those outside rushes coming from the blind side. I just start yelling “Get ‘em… Get ‘em.” Makes my day! My wife hates me yelling, though, scares the crap out of her!
