Fellow jet fans,
We got the win, thats the most important thing. Someone should tell Peter King that this is the NFL not the NCAA, and fortunately for us a team doesn't advance to the post season based on strength of victory but rather on wins and losses. Furthermore, a team grows more when faced with adversity, I personally liked that we won a close overtime game against a team that seems to be like arnold from the terminator (thats a game we would've lost in the past).
If Favre continues to play this smart football and that freak Jenkins can remain in good health we can go deep into the playoffs.
Dustin Keller is super legit, I think he can be the premier recieveing TE in the league for years provided we get a good qb after the favre eror.
One more thing, dealing with the Mayo kid twice a year for possibly the next decade guarantees my future membership in the hairclub for men... (really wish we drafted him)
PS GO JETS

Bottom line, the players won that game and the coaching did not.

Vintage Favre, of course... yada yada

The team is playing together. The two losses in the beginning of the year can be blamed on a new team just not knowing how to play well together (and the three rushes in a row on first of goal). I think we are looking good as a team.

I think the coaches themselves don't realize how good of a team we are and just don't have the confidence to gamble. Hopefully they realize it soon. Trust Favre, you have to. Take him for what he is, a guy that gambles and will win 8 out of 10 times. Unfortunately, those two other times will be costly, but the other 8 will be so sweet and worth it.

p.s. Dustin, is this true?

Dustin caught that 3rd and 15 ball about a yard short of the first down and the defender was right there, in good position to drop him. He lunged forward for the first. For a rookie to have that kind of feel for the first down marker is pretty incredible. Good job Dustin!

Green Guy,
Im not saying that Mangini is not our guy. I happen to think there is no other guy to be the head coach out there. All im saying is Cassel is a young agile QB who is deadly accurate on everything inside 20 yards. He has trouble throwing the deep ball and we didnt attack. All Im saying is that we were really TIGHT on defense in the 4th quarter. My comment was too harsh on Mangini. He cant tackle Casell on 4th and 1 with 8 secs left. D Bow was right there and he whiffed
If you read my posts 90% of them are supportive and constructive. However I really killed Schott and Sutton. Schott has redeemed himself and has been brilliant since Buffalo. I was wrong about him. Sutton however will not be back next season. Its not a secret Mangini wants one of his boys, like Rob Ryan to run the d, and i dont blame him.
But it doesnt matter because no one is perfect and the offensive gameplan was great. We won, Brett, DK, Cotch and the line stepped up and we are in first place. Im on board with TANGINI and Schott and with whatever direction they choose to go. Im also with any TRUE Jets fans who's down with the team we have RIGHT NOW. Excluding the two jerks, I value and respect everyone's input on this blog. J E T S JETS JETS JETS

Some people have made a decision that they are not going to like the guy no matter what he accomplishes. To each his own. But Favre's post game comments about the 3rd and 15 said it all when he related he saw BB telling the secondary to play deeper, opening up the seam to Keller. When was the last time you think a coach told his secondary to play deeper against the Jets?

I am hijacking this blog.
I have been following Brett Favre since 1992, and thanks to him the Jets are a vastly improved brand image nationwide. The last time the Jets were so loved nationally was 98. I laugh at the Favre haters here - but really these guys have no clue. Those of us who have been following football since the 70s (I am 40) know that Brett is a very very special player. I am now following the Jets VERY closely, because wherever Brett goes, I follow. It's not just the plays on the field, but he inspires the team to want to do everything to win. Hell, he inspires me - an old guy - to keep myself in ultimate condition, overcome my stupidity - and win in life.

You haters probably are not aware of how he has truly profoundly changed the Packers franchise, and even the NFL. It was obviously best for both sides that they parted ways, and it's a bonus to see the "prima donna" LOL in NY in the spotlight that he has merited.

Brett gives hope to a lot of us out here struggling to stay relevant in our careers as we grow older. And his teammates probably agree with me that he is an inspiration.

No offense to Pennington - one of the most mentally brilliant QBs I have ever seen and heard. I live down in Miami, and Chad fits the South Florida culture extremely well. Got to give a little love to Chad.
