For Your Programming Pleasure Tonight

We understand that the NFL and most of the major cable companies are in something of a snit when it comes to … you know … actually showing the games on your typical cable package.

To help you navigate your options, we wanted to make sure you were aware of what’s going to be available to you Thursday night if you are going to try and follow the game from home. See after the jump for the methods.

On the web at NFL.com

Verizon FiOS and the NFL Network are giving fans the chance to play virtual “executive producer” through a service called “Game Extra.” I believe it’s free for FIOS TV & Internet customers, For all games that are broadcast on the NFL Network, this allows fans to completely customize their viewing experience. They can switch back and forth between multiple camera angles (like Sunday Night Football’s Technology), watch on-demand replays, listen to live audio feeds, track stats, chat with other fans and more. It’s actually pretty cool stuff that can cater to die hard loyalists and fantasy football players alike. Watch a preview here, and check out this site for more information.

If you live outside New York market and have NFL Network

6PM — NFL Total Access – A special two hour episode of NFLTA leading up to the game.
8PM — Jets at Patriots – The game will be broadcast live here.

If you live in NYC area and get WPIX and not NFL Network

7:30PM — WPIX Countdown to Kickoff — Sal Marchiano & Craig Carton which will feature an interview with Eric Mangini, a tour of the New York Jets Atlantic Health Training Center with team owner and CEO Woody Johnson … but MOST IMPORTANTLY a live Newsday’s Jets columnist Erik Boland.
8PM — Jets at Patriots – The game will be broadcast live here.

If you live in the Boston / Manchester Markets

WCVB Boston (Ch. 5) and WMUR Manchester (NH) will be airing the game.

SNY Postgame

Make sure to wash it all down with a cool Jets Post Game Live on SNY. Scheduled to air immediately after the game and recap the game along with have all the goodies you’re used to from SNY.

  1. Of course us Upstate NYers are screwed. O well I’ll just go to the bar like a normal person.

  2. BTW, if you’re in NH/ME/VT like I am, WMUR is Channel 9

  3. Now I am torn. I really want to see Boland on WPIX, but I can’t stand Craig Carton. Meh.
