Erik Ainge Suspended for Steroid Policy Infratction

Jets rookie quarterback Erik Ainge has been suspended for four games by the NFL on Friday for violating the league’s policy on steroids and related substances.ainge.jpg

The ironic thing is that Ainge, the 2008 fifth round draft pick for the Jets, already is on injured reserve and out for the season with a foot injury. Ainge won’t be allowed to be with the team or at the facility until Dec. 15, following the Jets’ game against Buffalo.

Since no one’s really willing to talk on the record about what the substance is, I have a hard time believing that the 6-5 221lb. Ainge needed help staying slim with a diuretic, even if he is rehabbing a mysterious “foot injury.” I have no evidence, proof or even hearsay, but I don’t think it’s a stretch to say that Ainge might need to bulk up to compete at this level. 220 is a great weight for a Quarterback … if you’re 6-2.

Thanks to the many of you when sent this on. I’ve been traveling tonight, so cheers!

  3. Well, I said it before and I will say it again. We wasted our 5th round pick this year. Ainge has always been a joke and still is.

  4. what a waste of a pick could have had carl nicks instead whos a starter for the saints. He probably wont even make the team next season he’ll be bagging groceries with anthony schlegel.. MARK MY WORDS Brett Ratliff is the future of this team not this roid head bum

  5. james–i hope you’re wrong. though i too was dissapointed with that pick. for me, the dissapointment was that they didn’t take owen schmidt (FB, WVU) who was drafted by seattle with the next pick. i am pretty confident that schmidt will be a pro-bowl full back within a few years. he was by far and away the best player at his position in the draft, and the jets passed him up.

  6. By the second day the draft is a crap shoot anyway

  7. second day a crapshoot seriously its not you just have to have a clue of what your doing

  8. Crapshoot my ass. Dwight Lowery wasn’t a mistake, neither were teh other 4th rounder we hit on year in year out. Your a joke for thinking that.

  9. Injured players often take steroids to aid their recovery. Doesn’t do much for a broken pinkie though.

However, remember that a ban under this policy does not necessarily mean a guy has actually taken steroids.

  10. It wasnt steriods it was a diauretic pill. It flushes your system, I mean most guys dont take that unless they have something to hide, but the substance can be found in some legal compounds used to keep players weight down. The case is said to be going to federal court against the NFL for breaking the collective bargaining agreement
As Bent said steroids are also used and sometimes completely necessary in order to help repair injuries. A buddy of mine was wounded in Iraq and was prescribed them along with physical therapy to help rebuild and strengthen the muscles that were torn and ripped to shreds by bullets. I wouldnt consider him and ROIDHEAD. You guys should let the situation play out before throwing stones…
