When: 4:15PM EST
Where: Meadowlands, E. Rutherford, NJ
TV: WCBS
Radio: ESPN 1050, WABC 770, NFL FieldPass
Weather: Rainy- 45° F

I will be attending today’s game with an old friend. First drop off the wive’s for a matinee, then go to the game and enjoy the festivities.

On a five game winning streak, coming off the high of beating the league’s last undefeated team, after taking on one of the league’s most formidible defenses the Jets take on one of the league’s most formidible offense. A win today would be another good statement by this team … that they are capable of beating any kind of team and capable of keeping their momentum intact.

Keys to the Game:

  1. Beat the D (Line) — The Broncos are stout up front, but the Jets runners could make loads of yards working against a depleted linebacking corps.
  2. Slow the O — The O-Line and the Broncos passing game are the biggest problems for the Jets. The Jets defensive line needs to win at the line of scrimmage to win this game, and the Jets need to keep the ball out of Marshall and Royal’s hands as much as possible.
  3. A Leon Lift — Leon could have yet another big game in return duty, especially in kickoffs, see if he gets a long return today.
  4. As Always, TURNOVERS– In the streak, the Jets have minimized their turnovers. The Jets have the chance to beat this Denver team long, but they need to be smart about it. See how Favre responds to a temptingly frail secondary.

Jets Run Offense v. Broncos Run Defense – Remember the Bills game? Same situation. The Jets are facing a brutal front four but just beyond those behemoths lies gads of yardage for Thomas and Leon to take against a weak and depleted linebacking corps. The Jets, will put as many bodies on the defensive lineman to focus on opening the holes up front. Look for the Jets to use Chris Baker and Tony Richardson to create room, but also look for the Jets to use their linemen efficiently … like trying to pull guards from one side or to use their “Wild Pig” formation with Robert Turner or Wayne Hunter as blocking Tight Ends.

Jets Pass Offense v. Broncos Pass Defense – This is the single weakest area of the Broncos total game. The Broncos have struggled against the pass all year, and the Jets passing game, although cautious of late, could have a big game against the Broncos. Coles and Cotch will take turns teeing off on the Broncos second corner, but look for Stuckey and/or Keller to make some contributions out of the slot. Since the Broncos have a weak linebacking corps, look for the Jets to exploit that with whatever Tight Ends they dress for the game. See if the weather plays into this facet of the Jets gameplan.

Jets Run Defense v. Broncos Run Offense – The Jets O-Line is great, but the Broncos line is even better. They grind out yards and don’t allow Jay Cutler to be sacked much. The old adage is true about this team, it really doesn’t matter who the Broncos throw out there to play running back, because the line is coached up so well and handpicked so devotedly by Mike Shannahan, the unit never skips a beat. Beating the line, not the running backs is key. If Kris Jenkins wants the MVP, winning the battle of the line up front today would make a very strong claim. The Jets need to do their best to let their d-linemen control the line of scrimmage and take up more blockers to allow the linebackers to stop the running backs. Putting Cutler in long down and distances will be important to getting this offense off the field.

Jets Pass Defense v. Broncos Pass Offense – Cutler hasn’t been sacked much this year a testament to his and his line’s play. With targets like Brandon Marshall and Eddie Royal, the Broncos wide receivers can be deadly once the ball is in their hands, so the Jets best defense is to keep it out of them. The but the Jets will need to use Revis mostly on Marshall (or Law with help over the top) and rotate on the speedster, Eddie Royal.

Special Teams – Also known as “the forgotten phase” for Denver. The Jets have a serious advantage here. Leon could have another big day for the Jets and look to see if field goals come into play for the Broncos as a factor in a win or loss. They’ve struggled with them this year.

  1. avatar nyckage says:

Even though these guys are our sworn enemies for a day, you have to give Cutler his props, Diabetes and he is 2nd place in Probowl voting, Now imagine how good this guy would be if he was healthy

Anyways if we play their guys tight, we should do to Marshal and Royal , what we did with Welker and Moss, double Marshal with Law and Rhodes and let Revis go one on one with Royal and Let Lowery stick the slot guy, I dont think Broncos slot guy isn’t as good as Gaffaney

And if we lose it’s gonna be because we got full of ourselves. Do you know how many interviews LW has been on? I mean come on focus on the game, I’m not saying don’t do interviews, but stay focused and don’t play like you are going to the SB, ask the cowboys how that worked out?

  2. avatar Drew says:

A little confused where the D-line for the Broncos is “stout”?? They play a 4-3 and are getting gashed in the run game.

Also….Leon is electric probably best in the league but Royal has been returning kicks and been making plays for their return game

  3. avatar Bill Jenkins says:

Go Jets! Go Steelers! Go St. Louis (Yeah, right…. at least 2 of the 3 look good!)

  4. avatar Joe B. says:

How exactly did Leon “play like he is going to the Super Bowl”?

  5. avatar ryan says:

J-E-T-S…our neighborhood friends the giants r havin sum problems with burress lol ….the jets look great lets hope they can keep it up

  6. avatar nyckage says:

    Joe B
I’m not talking about his play, I’m talking about the mindset don’t expect to go the the SB just because you beat the AFC champs and an undefeated team, and I’m talking about the team not just him

  7. avatar Liam says:

Joe B, I think nyckage is saying that he hopes LW, and other Jets, don’t get complacent and start believing their own press clippings (like the Cowboys did earlier this season) not that LW has done that in the past.

This game should tell us a lot about how the Jets handle prosperity.

  8. avatar Joe B. says:

I know what he’s saying, but there’s no evidence that they’ve gotten complacent. Just because Leon did a few ESPN interviews, that means he thinks he’s going to the Super Bowl?

  9. avatar Bill Jenkins says:

What is your take on the New England/Pittsburgh game? It is a win-win for the Jets. With a New England Victory (and Jets win), the Jets advance into the #2 seed. However, New England would remain one game behind the Jets.

With a Pittsburgh victory (and Jets win), it affords the Jets some breathing room to have that imperfect game and drop one with little consequence in regards to the division title.

Personally, I’d prefer the Steelers to win because my guts are made of jelly instead of steel. :D

  10. avatar Liam says:

Bill Jenkins, gotta lock up the division first and foremost. So yea, I’m rooting for the Steelers also (it also helps that the Steelers schedule is brutal down the stretch so they have another game or two they could easily lose). As great as the Jets have been playing, a loss today coupled with a Pats win would put us on very thin ice for making the playoffs, so like I said, need to lock up that division first and then we can get greedy.

Joe B, I agree with you that it there is nothing wrong with Leon enjoying the spotlight a little bit and doing a few interviews – -and that does not make him or the team complacent.

This is such a big game today. A win all but secures us a place in the postseason (with a few patsies left on our schedule) and enables the team to have a real shot at a bye and home field. It could also go miles for the secondary’s confidence if they step it up against this pass first offense. A loss would make for a very stressful couple of weeks.

  11. avatar Bill Jenkins says:

The Jets schedule contains some of the worst teams in the NFL (Seattle, San Francisco) and then division games AT HOME vs. Miami (December in NY! WOO HOO!) and the Bills. It looks real good.

Pittsburgh plays New England today, Dallas, Baltimore, Tennessee, and a dud in Cleveland. Very nice call, Liam. This is brutal and looks great for a 2nd seed and playoff bye. How sweet would that be?!

New England plays Seattle, Oakland, Arizona, and Buffalo. Weak teams.

    Go Steelers!

  12. avatar Jose the Jet says:

FOOTBALL PLAYERS ARE NOT DUMB THEY CAN PLAY AND STILL INTERVIEW AFTER THE GAME. ITS DURING THE GAME THAT THEY SHOULD NOT THINK. IM SURE THERE IS A CLAUSE ON THEIR CONTRACT THAT ASKS THEM TO TAKE ON INTERVIEWS. JETS 30-10

    NYG:

IT SEEMS LIKE BUREES IS BORED. HE HAS TWO SUPERBOWLS RINGS. HE NEEDS TO BE TRADED TO THE LIONS. I THINK HE WONT BE BORED OVER THERE. THEY’LL THROW EVERY BALL AT HIM EVERY TIME.

  13. avatar TheGreenCastle says:

Well if the Broncos were planning on attacking our pass D with spread looks the weather looks like it will help slow them down.

This kind of weather can lead to a lot of injuries, so lets hope we get out healthy.

  14. avatar Jose the Jet says:

WE WILL GET AT LEAST 4 SACKS TODAY. LETS GET IT STARTED!!!!

  15. avatar Joe B. says:

Yeah Schotty, a game in a monsoon is when you want to get cute and do double reverses and laterals. This guy can’t be serious.

  16. avatar Andrew B says:

Holy ****! what a dumb play call in the rain, Brad Smith made a horrible pitch (not a soft toss but threw it hard into Cotch’s chest and he was too late on the toss as well) and that was one of the worst officiating calls ever. Cotch had the ball and he’s down the second the D touches him, the defensive player clearly punched it out of his grasp as he touched him.

  17. avatar Jay says:

    Horrible horrible call

  18. avatar Joe B. says:

    That’s what we do, TJ!!!

  19. avatar ronnie says:

the actual play is brilliant but i think he shouldve saved it for a different weather game.

But atleast he comes back with the great running call with t. jones going 60 yards

  20. avatar Jay says:

These refs are after us today

  21. avatar Jose the Jet says:

WE NEED TO BLITZ MORE. THEY CANT HURT US WITH THE RUN.

  22. avatar kd bart says:

    Please.

Bob Sutton doesn’t believe in the blitz.

  23. avatar nick d says:

Are you serious Defense? A 60 yard TD pass?

We are playing like we are 3-8. Or that with one GIANT chip on our shoulders.

  24. avatar Jose the Jet says:

WHY ARE WE EVEN THROWING. WE CAN RUN ALL DAY ON THESE GUYS. WITH SCREENS AND REVERSES. DENVER IS REALLY A DIRTY TEAM. JUST RUN THE BALL!!!!

  25. avatar Jose the Jet says:

He’s going to have to blitz. We need pressure on the QB.

  26. avatar Joe B. says:

Enough with the safety blitzes from 25 yards out while we’re at it.

We look really sloppy. Need to get our stuff together.

  27. avatar kd bart says:

Except for one play, this team does not look like they can ready to play.

  28. avatar Joe B. says:

Oh yeah, they can’t beat us with the running game? What game have you been watching? Hillis has three big runs against us.

  29. avatar nick d says:

    I agree KD Bart.

Thats 2 20-yard runs in two possessions for Denver. We are playing like Denver should roll over.

    UGH.

  30. avatar kd bart says:

Spent the week reading their press clippings.

  31. avatar Jose the Jet says:

I dont understand how Denver is running the ball. We need to keep them in bounds so we can get the ball back w/ the wind sooner!!! Unbelievable game so far…

  32. avatar TC says:

Bad play calling, secondary getting burned,no one can hold the ball……………………Jet’s loss today boy’s!!

  33. avatar Jose the Jet says:

TC- not over yet. When we get the ball w/ the wind it’ll be a different game.

  34. avatar kd bart says:

Here comes the 3 man rush

  35. avatar Joe B. says:

LOL @ TC. Talk about jumping off the ship early. Calm down. 17-7 in the first quarter is far from insurmountable.

  36. avatar Jose the Jet says:

    Our turn to score 17.

  37. avatar Jose the Jet says:

    TJ STAY WITH YOUR BLOCKERS!!!

  38. avatar Jose the Jet says:

THIS IS SOME BAD REFEREES. THEY STINK!!

  39. avatar Jose the Jet says:

OH DIP, MY FAULT. LOOKS LIKE A TD.

  40. avatar kd bart says:

    He never touched the ground.

  41. avatar Joe B. says:

What a weird game. Props to TJ for not giving up on the play.

  42. avatar nick d says:

    Most. Ridiculous. Game. Ever.

  43. avatar nick d says:

    TD JETS!!!!!

  44. avatar Jose the Jet says:

U GOTTA LOVE COTCHERY!! FUMBLED BUT STILL PLAYING HARD!

  45. avatar Jose the Jet says:

WE ARE DOING SO WELL WHY THROW DEEP SO EARLY IN YOUR DRIVE?

  46. avatar kd bart says:

    Terrible throw by Favre.

  47. avatar Jose the Jet says:

WE NEED TO KEEP THE BALL FOR A LONG TIME WHEN WE HAVE THE WIND TO OUR BACKS!!!

  48. avatar Joe B. says:

Why the hell are we not playing this more close to the vest? We play conservative football in great weather, then turn into the circus in the pouring rain? Stick with what works guys, especially in this weather. Jesus.

  49. avatar kd bart says:

    Defense looks awful.

  50. avatar Jose the Jet says:

    AND STILL NO BLITZ!!!

  51. avatar kd bart says:

    Tackling is atrocious.

  52. avatar Joe B. says:

If we don’t start getting some pressure on Cutler, it’s curtains. This is embarrassing. 24 points in the first half, 17 given up by the defense.

  53. avatar Jose the Jet says:

LETS SEE WHAT BRETT DOES NOW. HE NEEDS TO BE PATIENT! ASAP!!!

  54. avatar kd bart says:

Fire Sutton at halftime. I don’t know what he is calling on defense today. It’s a total mess.

  55. avatar Jose the Jet says:

AT LEAST A FIELD GOAL BEFORE HALF TIME.

  56. avatar Jose the Jet says:

MORE THAN ENOUGH TIME TO SCORE.

  57. avatar Hey guys, where is Farve? says:

The rookie is beating the teacher, where is Farve?

  58. avatar Jose the Jet says:

WE NEED A THREE AND OUT ASAP!!!

  59. avatar kd bart says:

Broncos score before the half and this one is over. The team looks ill prepared today.

  60. avatar Joe B. says:

Gotta put this smarmy douchebag Cutler on his back. Now.

  61. avatar Jose the Jet says:

THE STUDENT HAS FASTER WIDE RECEIVERS. WE NEED AN OCHO-CINCO!!!

  62. avatar kd bart says:

Stated it before but the tackling today has been putrid.

  63. avatar kd bart says:

    SUTTON!!!!

    Will you blitz once !!!!!!

  64. avatar Jose the Jet says:

WE GOT LUCKY IN THIS DRIVE.

  65. avatar Jose the Jet says:

    CUTLER IS KILLING US!

  66. avatar Jose the Jet says:

HOW DOES THE BALL HANG LIKE THAT AND NO INTO?

  67. avatar JustAGreenGuy says:

Is this the same team? We better have some adjustments. This is horrible.

  68. avatar kd bart says:

He better peel the walls with his screaming during halftime. The defense should be totally ashamed of themselves for that half of football.

  69. avatar Jose the Jet says:

27-14? AT HALF!!! NO PRESSURE ON THE QB… AND THEY GET THE BALL FIRST.

  70. avatar Jose the Jet says:

THE SECONDARY IS STINKING IT UP!!

  71. avatar kd bart says:

Other than Oakland, worse they played all season. Except for two TJ runs, a total failure of a half.

  72. avatar Big Bad Bob says:

Cutlers not killing, the D is making him look good. They can’t cover sht

  73. avatar Ed L says:

WILL SOMEONE PLEASE PUT CUTLER ON HIS @$$

  74. avatar inOhio says:

They’re back!! The Jets that I’ve come to love over the past 40 years disappeared several weeks ago. I looked and looked and couldn’t find them anywhere. Lo and behold, they’re back and more glorious than ever. All is right with the world.

  75. avatar Ed L says:

    BLITZ BLITZ BLITZ BLITZ

  76. avatar jay pee says:

i dont understand how come everytime farve goes deep the only person there is the corner where the f$#@%$@k are the receivers there nowhere around there not even there to fight for the ball unbelievable

  77. avatar johnl says:

hello reality check…good bye first round bye?

  78. avatar TC says:

    Jose,
IT’S OVER!!!! I’m new to this site this year but c’mon.I’ve seen it from the beginning. The Jet’s secondary is just plain terrible!!! This is a super bowl team? Think not!! I feel for you life long Jet fan’s.The coaching is bad,the play calling is bad again,I just don’t get it!!!!!!!!!
    I’m out a here……………………

  79. avatar kd bart says:

    Love fairweather fans.

  80. avatar Big Bad Bob says:

Easy guys, you had to know the jets weren’t perfect. They had a bad half, its not like teams don’t come back in the NFL. Let mangini right the ship, and get the team back to what they’ve been winning with. Let’s go boys!

  81. avatar Harvlis says:

Once again, Sutton has no confidence in rushing the QB. As a result, we are sitting back and getting picked apart. Hafltime adjustment, “BRING THE HOUSE”!!!!!

  82. avatar Jason says:

We look bad, real bad, it’s like we don’t want to be playing, we look as if we are entitled to this win because of how hard the other games have been. Reality check, they better decide they want to play or its going to be a long second half especially when the Broncos let Hillis off his leash the second half to eat the clock.

  83. avatar Chrebookie says:

where the hell are the fans?

  84. avatar Jason says:

    Get Leon the ball.

  85. avatar Big Bad Bob says:

At least they won’t be dropping back into prevent. I hope

  86. avatar Joe B. says:

    kd bart -

Same here. They’ve played terribly today, for sure. But God, have some perspective people.

  87. avatar kd bart says:

    Third down. Bring pressure.

  88. avatar Jose the Jet says:

    We got lucky. Screent play!!!

  89. avatar Jose the Jet says:

    He stepped on the line!!

  90. avatar kd bart says:

    Review that play.

  91. avatar chrisjets from ct says:

HIS FOOT WAS ON THE LINE!!!

  92. avatar Jose the Jet says:

TC- Take Care and take In Ohio with you.

  93. avatar Biscuitz says:

bad call, should be a touchback!

  94. avatar chrisjets from ct says:

The officials have been horrible today!!

  95. avatar Biscuitz says:

    horsesh1t

  96. avatar Jose the Jet says:

BAD CALLS AND THE PLAYERS STAY OUT THERE IN THE RAIN. THESE OFFICIALS WILL NEVER DO A SUPERBOWL.

  97. avatar Jose the Jet says:

HOW AN YOU SEE THAT IN SLOW MO AND SAY HE NEVER TOUCHED THE LINE.

  98. avatar Jose the Jet says:

FACE Msk penalty. Is Romo still playing for the Broncos?

  99. avatar chrisjets from ct says:

    NICE FLAG!!!!!!!

  100. avatar Jose the Jet says:

    Hey they got one right!!

  101. avatar Biscuitz says:

a touchdown on this drive would be HUGE

  102. avatar Jose the Jet says:

TJ NEEDS TO HIT THE HOLE HARD!!

  103. avatar Biscuitz says:

Let’s go! Move those chains guys!!

  104. avatar Jose the Jet says:

AS SOON AAS WE BRING IN LEON AND OPEN IT UP WE GET MRE YARDS.

  105. avatar Jose the Jet says:

INCREDIBLE!!! NO FIRST DOWN. WHERE IS LEON?

  106. avatar Jose the Jet says:

LEAVE TJ IN THE SIDELINES. NO MORE RUNNING. UNNECESSARY RIGHT NOW.

  107. avatar kd bart says:

A bad performance by everyone involved today.

  108. avatar Big Bad Bob says:

The coaches have abandoned what they had built. What happened to the jets running attack. It 4-1, and they try to go for a big one. Dumb football right there.

  109. avatar Hey, Jose !! says:

    Hey Jose

  110. avatar Biscuitz says:

ugh, they are hard to watch today

  111. avatar johnl says:

we are going to win this game WATCH

  112. avatar hank/naples says:

    Hey, Jose:

He looks like an Old Man Back there, Like he doesn’t wan’t to pay because things aren’t going his way.

  113. avatar kd bart says:

A bad performance and, in a way, you could see it coming. They’ve played real well the last four weeks starting with the game in Buffalo. Knew they were bound for a bad one. Just thought they be able to scrape by in that game. Not so.

  114. avatar Jose the Jet says:

THEY’RE RUNNING THE PLAYS WE SHOULD AND WE USUALLY BE RUNNING.

BIG INTO. NO POINTS ON THE BOARD. BIG!!!

  115. avatar JustAGreenGuy says:

Congrats Dwight! Someone needed to make a play.

  116. avatar hank/naples says:

    Hey Jose:

    Don’t worry about it!
    Pitt is beating NE 20-10

  117. avatar Big Bad Bob says:

There you go johnl! I feel the same thing, its not going to be pretty though.

  118. avatar Jose the Jet says:

WE ARE STILL GOING TO WIN THIS GAME. YOU’LL SEE. WE’LL FIND A WAY. 9-3 HERE WE COME!!! NO HUDDLE!! YEEHHHAAAA!!!

  119. avatar Jose the Jet says:

LEON IS LIKE MIGHTY MOSE.. HERE HE COMES TO SAVE THE DAY!!!

  120. avatar Jose the Jet says:

ANYONE CAN DRAW OUT THERE. LEON WITH A CAPE!! GET TO IT!!

  121. avatar kd bart says:

Could be Mighty Mose from The Office.

  122. avatar Jose the Jet says:

AND THE BRONCOS ARE GOING DOWN!!

  123. avatar chrisjets from ct says:

Another MYSTERY FLAG that gets picked up?????

  124. avatar Jose the Jet says:

Faking the pain!!! They should be flaged for that..

  125. avatar Big Bad Bob says:

A bronco goes down every play

  126. avatar Jose the Jet says:

He had someone open. go for it on 4th..

  127. avatar the fin says:

Jets look sorry against the Broncos???? Even my rebuilding Fins took care of Denver pretty easily. You guys are the “Not Yets”.

  128. avatar chrisjets from ct says:

hey fin, this is a Jets fan board – how about you go POUND SAND

  129. avatar the fin says:

I think the Not Yets have been reading their own press too much.

  130. avatar kd bart says:

Thanks for playing. Here’s a home version of our game. Now, get going.

  131. avatar Jose the Jet says:

I think you’ve been reading our press too much.

  132. avatar the fin says:

We get a bunch of knuckle head Yets fans on ours so I’d thought I’d say hello to all you clowns.

  133. avatar Bill Jenkins says:

That pass was RIDICULOUS. What the hell is wrong with the Jets defense today? I mean, Jesus Christ.

  134. avatar the fin says:

the only way the Yets win this one is if Denver has to forfeit for lack of able players.

  135. avatar Big Bad Bob says:

Gholston looked lost back there. I wouldn’t care if he had completely missed him, but at least tear after him.

  136. avatar Jose the Jet says:

    PART OF THE GAME FISH!!

  137. avatar Biscuitz says:

i love people, jets roll for 5 games, and all of a sudden we’re down 10 to denver and we get these idiots talking smack on our board…hey fin, your garbage team nearly lost to the rams today, find something better to do with your time

  138. avatar the fin says:

I hope grandpa Favre doesn’t throw another pick this coming drive!!!!

  139. avatar Jose the Jet says:

HAVENT YOU HEARD FISH THAT GETTING HURT IS PART OF THE GAME. JUST ASK CHAD.

  140. avatar Jose the Jet says:

I’d rather have grandpa Brett than arthritic Chad.

  141. avatar Bill Jenkins says:

A quick TD here would be great.

  142. avatar the fin says:

Used to hate Chad but now I think he’s a good guy that got treated like trash from you losers. Cause you wanted some headlines.

  143. avatar Willie Wunderlich says:

Something is very rotten in the Big Apple, fellas. There was no holding on Wiegman on the Denver touchdown run by Hillis in the third quarter. Hell, there wasn’t even TIME to hold anyone on Hillis’s run off center for six points. This was the second time in the game the New york ref flagged Denver for holding on 1st and goal–two obvious calls to throw the game to New york./ The New York refs are looking for anything they can call to throw this game to the Jets. Another example; Brandon Marshall was held by the jersey and flaqantly interfered with during an attempted catch in the endzone in the second quarter. No flag. Then the New York refs flag Denver for pass interference on a play in the third quarter where there was no contact, or a touch foul at best. The worst call at all was the new york non-TD where Jones was tackled at his elbow clearly hit the ground. Even after requesting a review, the new york refs somehow ruled that Jones’ elbow did not hit the turf.. Total bull Sh…!!! This kind of officiating is going to ruin the NFL the same way it has ruined the NBA…

  144. avatar Jose the Jet says:

Here we go. It’s going to be a long game. And the Broncos will feel the pain all the way to Ohio.

  145. avatar Biscuitz says:

fin, you could very well be the biggest loser i’ve ever encountered…talk trash to new yorkers on a jets fan blog…go read a book or something dude

  146. avatar Willie Wunderlich says:

P.S. The Dolphins were very lucky to eke out a “W” against Denver this year…You guys obviously didn’t watch the game…

  147. avatar Bill Jenkins says:

Willie is another troll. “New York refs”… what a moronic “sports fan”!!!

  148. avatar the fin says:

the refs probably owe “joey bag of donuts” some money out there in jersey.

  149. avatar Jose the Jet says:

i feel you Willie. But it’s been bad for both sides. Flags being picked up but no reason. Like a bailout!! Dot you think?

  150. avatar the fin says:

3rd and 8 tick tock tick tock

  151. avatar Jose the Jet says:

He will probably be swimming with the Fish…

  152. avatar Jose the Jet says:

    Another one Bites the dust!!!

  153. avatar the fin says:

    wow good throw for grandpa

  154. avatar Jose the Jet says:

This is called getting your wind back.

  155. avatar Jose the Jet says:

    Chad would’ve been short.

  156. avatar the fin says:

hahaha. maybe but the guys got heart, and he’s smart. he’s not a cry baby bitch like favre.

  157. avatar johnl says:

keeping talking fin your giving us good luck

  158. avatar hank/naples says:

    Hey, Jose !!

Can’t you see by the dawns early light that Farve is OVER THE HILL !!!

  159. avatar the fin says:

i don’t remember chad crying to barbara walters.

  160. avatar the fin says:

  167. avatar Jose the Jet says:

the broncos got the match up they wanted.

  168. avatar Drew says:

I guess the Elam honeymoon is over

  169. avatar the fin says:

wow!!!! the Yets are really making this interesting by losing until the great late comeback. Mangina looked like he wanted to go home.

  170. avatar kd bart says:

This should serve as a wake up call for their last four games. You can’t just show up and expect to win. You got to play with some effort. The effort today was very poor.

  171. avatar kd bart says:

Your jabs would actually mean something if your team had beaten the Jets this season and were even or ahead of them in the standings.

  172. avatar Drew says:

    Denver has a White RB
    Marshall shut down by Revis
Jones scores 2x and runs for 140yds….. and were losing by 17??

  173. avatar lou says:

Can someone please agree with me and say that Sutton has got to go… I cannot believe he has not adjusted at all…. He needs to go… I do not care if Herman Edwards becomes the DC as long as it is not Sutton.

    i FEELO DISGUSTED !!@!

  175. avatar chris says:

disgusting performance, especially after last week. so pedestrian and mistake prone. every week is still an adventure for jets fans.

  176. avatar Jose the Jet says:

They are getting out played. they stopped the run when they are not known for it. they ran the ball well today when they shouldnt have. Our Wide Receivers are slow. We need ocho cinco. We should have gotten him a long time ago. Brett would never over throw him .

  177. avatar the fin says:

Fins VS Yets on last game of season in Giants Stadium, so it aint over till its over. My jabs are good natured and funny anyway. Get yourself another can of busch and relax.

Still will be in first. Chance for the bye is probably gone.

  179. avatar Drew says:

How did Arkansas ever lose with F Jones, Mcfadden and this white MFer??

  180. avatar hank/naples says:

    F#$%CK FARVE !!!!

  181. avatar Jose the Jet says:

Every week is an adventure in the NFl. And we finally blitz correctly!!!

  182. avatar kd bart says:

The Dophins have been scraping by with close victories against the Seahawks and Rams the past few weeks. The novelty and affectiveness of The Wildcat has worn off.

  183. avatar Jose the Jet says:

Fin you are funny. I hope to hear rom you the last game of the year.

  184. avatar Drew says:

Well it is Josh Bell guarding LC?? What the F??

  185. avatar Jose the Jet says:

Denver has many people hurt. We need a quick td and an onside kick.

  186. avatar the fin says:

the fins haven’t been playing well your right but yet they are 7-5. they have 34 new players and a young quarterback learning the system. Jets are a team trying to buy free agent talent like the fins used to do. And look where that got the fins.

  187. avatar Jose the Jet says:

    Bretts into was very costly.

  188. avatar Jose the Jet says:

There learning from the wrong guy. You’ll learn soon enough.

  189. avatar the fin says:

thx Jose I’m just bored and wanted to watch Pitt/NE game but showing Jet/Bronco in Miami.

  190. avatar Jose the Jet says:

dont leave watch the onside kick. it should be interesting.

  191. avatar Harvlis says:

    We were outcoached, period.

Cotchery, Elam, and Brett all had tough days. When we were down 13 and had the ball with a 1st down on the 7 yard line, our play-calling bogged down. That was our chance to cut it to 6, with plenty of time to go. We had them – Schott sucks.

  192. avatar Jose the Jet says:

We need to run the ball when the defense knows we are going to run it. And we do not do that.

  193. avatar Dolphinsrule says:

    Jets suckkkkk!

  194. avatar leon's legs says:

hey guys, i know this is one loss, but this pass D is absolutely horrific, their safeties are horrible. Better get it together next week against a weak SF team.

  195. avatar dave says:

This was ugly….inability to get on those TE’s and allowing them to kill us over the middle. Also, where was our tackling?! The weather really seemed to keep these guys down.

    Terrible game.

  196. avatar hank/naples says:

    Sorry, Guys:

    FARVE SUCKS !!

  197. avatar Jose the Jet says:

Outcoached. Maybe. Didnt like the fact aht Leon did not get the ball earlier in the game on screens or quick outs.

  198. avatar Jose the Jet says:

Bret doesnt suk. He just needs to be like Chad for the beginning of the game. Then let loose later on. The interception was a bad one. we were doing well at that point and he threw it away.

  199. avatar Dolphinsrule says:

What a satisfying loss for the wets.Life is good.

  200. avatar dave says:

Whatever…I’d say it’s OK to drop this one if they get another fire up their a$$ like they did after the Raiders game. Knock out San Fran, Seattle, and take one from Buff or Miami and we’re fine…then it’s playoff time

  201. avatar Jason says:

Way to go Schotty we learned something today

    JETS – Leon = 0

    Any questions

  202. avatar Dmazz says:

The whole team pretty much laid a fat egg tonight –

Id rather the Jets lose now and run the table through to Tampa.

  203. avatar Dolphinsrule says:

    Jose-Favre sucks!

  204. avatar Jose the Jet says:

    Congrats to the fish.

  205. avatar the fin says:

Can’t teach an old dog new tricks Jose. Favre would never change because he thinks he’s Brett Favre. Just padding his passing records for the highest bidder.

  206. avatar inOhio says:

I love being accused of being a fair weather fan. That’s special. I’ve been a Jets fan longer than most of you posters have been alive. But if any of you think the Jets are going to the promised land, you’re dreaming. The Jets exist to disappoint. Like the Cubs. And the Browns.

That’s why Joe Willie was so special. He did something for Jets fans that will never happen again. But I’ll be rooting for them week in and week out. They better they get, the greater the ultimate suffering. It’s our raison d’etre.

  207. avatar Dont-Forget-Where-You-Came-From-Cheese Mac says:

    hank,

Seriously? Yo u don’t know how to spell Favre? Jets didn’t lose this one because of Favre. The game was over as soon as Schottenheimer called that boneheaded reverse in the middle of a tsunami.

  208. avatar subwayfare says:

I had a bad feeling about this game. Coming off two huge wins, garnering too much praise, against a team that got embarrassed last week, and also happens to be strongest where the Jets are weakest. Throw in a home game coming off a lazy Thanksgiving and it spelled trouble. The fact that Denver was able to run the ball early was damning evidence that the Jets opened the game with less desire and it went downhill from there.

  209. avatar Liam says:

Disgusting game. Thank goodness the Pats lost. We retain a one game lead in the division and at present the tie breaker. Lets take care of business and win this division. Let the chips fall where they will.

  210. avatar Jose the Jet says:

I dont believe that. Maybe trying to win. Padding his stats is just a side effect.

  211. avatar Jose the Jet says:

The weather didnt help or the ball. The ball was very slippery today.

  212. avatar subwayfare says:

How can anyone say Favre lost the game? He had one pick, which ended up down on the Broncos 35. It’s the same as a punt. It was the D who let the Broncos march 65 yards for the score.

And it wasn’t a bad decision either. He had one on one coverage on a sideline go route. Unfortunately, the Jets just don’t have receivers who can get behind the D on a go.

I’m not saying Favre had a great game. He didn’t. But to say he was responsible for losing it is beyond a reach.

  213. avatar Dmazz says:

This is certainly a wake-up game and I think the Jets needed a slap in the face. Fine tune and get on track. Mangini and company did not coach a good game. The Jets players played below average.

I like our chances in the AFC –

Steelers to me are the number 1 team right now then
Titans who even though they lost to the Jets will have a much different approach if we see them again.
Colts playing well Defensively and with Peyton your always in the game.
Then the Jets 4th – in the AFC with holes on both sides of the ball but can be dangerous if they hit on all cylinders.

  214. avatar BigKatFan says:

Liam’s right. As long as the pats keep sucking we’ve got nothin’ to worry about.

  215. avatar EastSideKahaluu says:

This loss definitely stings because it plays to the fears that many fans had going into it… “same old Jets”. This team isn’t dominant; there’s still chinks that can be exploited. That said, this is the team that beat the Titans. This team is superior in talent and discipline to any Jets team in the past 5 years. Perhaps this is the reminder the team needed. It’s better that we address our problems now than mid December.

  216. avatar Ethan says:

I really hope this was a fluke… sure, Denver has a good offense, but the offenses we will be facing in the playoffs will be even better. I am worried.

  217. avatar Jose the Jet says:

His interception wa a really bad decision. It almost seemed like he got impatient. He did not do that against NE or TENN. Denver is not as good as these teams but he needs to remain in control and kool. We needed to work on Time of Possession at taht point in the game. We got no pressure on Cutler. Thats where the defense failed.

  218. avatar Jesse says:

    Welcome back to Earth

  219. avatar Joe B. says:

Sky isn’t falling, but it was a terrible performance. We lost to a team we’re better than because we blew opportunities and had five turnovers. Seems like TJ, Leon and Revis were the only ones that really came to play.

The 2-seed should be out of the discussion for now. We need to focus on winning the division. With the Phins and Pats facing easy schedules, we need to win three of four to sew it up, preferably sweeping the Bills and Phins.

  220. avatar subwayfare says:

It was absolutely not a bad decision. You work your offense in the hopes of getting single coverage on your wideouts. That’s what you are trying to do offensively. You have to believe that your number one receiver can beat single coverage on a go route. The ball was actually thrown from the Jets 31 and downed after the pick on the Broncos 32. That’s better than the average punt.

  221. avatar subwayfare says:

The game was lost at the line of scrimmage and in the secondary. This team better come up with some better pass defense schemes or they will not be going very far.

  222. avatar hatman013 says:

    God da@#mit….God F#$#king dammit!
We had a MASSIVE opportunity to pull away from the rest of the division today (no talk yet of seeding, that’s premature), and we blew it. WE. BLEW. IT. Granted, at least two of the ref’s calls in the 1st half (the fumble-TD and the not-quite-stepped-out-of-bounds-TD….anyone with 150/20 eyesight could have seen that those are bad calls…), were HORRIBLE calls. But still…a run play on 3rd and over-10 yds? A reverse in the rain? This was NOT the time for trickery…rather, for smash-mouth, in-your-face football from the past 3-4 games. What is going on here?! I, for one, am utterly ashamed at the way my team played today. I did not wholly expect them to win (owing to a terrible pass defense), but I expected it to at least be close. The performance put forth today was downright terrible, if not disgraceful. For shame. This team can play much better than this…and they HAVE to. Because, as we all know, this team is built to win NOW. There is no “next year”. We have a team of veterans, that have to take us all the way to the promised land now, this year, this season, or else this investment is wasted. This team, is builts for ’08-’09, maaaaybe ’90-’10, but no longer than that.

  223. avatar swizzle81 says:

This game was lost because the Jets could not tackle, Favre could not hit open receivers at key moments, the short yardage play calling was horrendous again, and please Harris get healthy and come back, Barton and Bowens looked awful out there today trying to cover the tight ends. And where was the pass rush? And why was Cotchery not ruled down by contact, I thought he had possession on that play. I guarantee you, when Royal muffed that kickoff in 2nd half, after the Jets kicked the field goal, not sure if it was Smith or Wright who touched him, if they had jumped on Royal after he gave himself up, the Jets would have been flagged for 15.

  224. avatar subwayfare says:

The fumble/TD call was horrendous. The officiating team looked like they were just rounded up off the street before the game and were still learning the rules. Giving that kind of life to a team on the road playing in bad conditions was HUGE.

Still, the Jets did not execute well. I wish I were more surprised.

subwayfare, on November 28th, 2008 at 10:32 am Said:
The one thing that worries me about this game is the Jets having a letdown after two huge wins and the Broncos being fried up to redeem themselves after a terrible game against Oakland.

  225. avatar Dolphinsrule says:

This just in – wets lose!!!LMFAO!!!

  226. avatar Jose the Jet says:

    what wetter than a fish?

  227. avatar Jose the Jet says:

I still dont like the interception at that point. We got 17 points scored on in the first quarter. Now we get the wind to our backs and give it away.

  228. avatar Fonz says:

I am licking my chops right now.

Lets see which people on the blog I should chew out.

All right all right all right!!!!!

Hey guys from fishland I will talk to you guys on your blog. Wait up I will discuss somethings with you.

For the rest of you frontrunners you all deserve this anyway. I knew coming into this game that Shannahan knew exactly what strings to pull and I am sorry for saying this but “Mangini tough luck. You haven’t seen the last of the old wizard. He burned you today and you were without a doubt outcoached but play to your strengths next time (small packages) and then you will see how fast they will fall apart”.

This loss exposed us completely and fortunately for us it was the Broncos in week 13 of the season than lets say Miami on the last game where we would need to win. I am glad the meltdown happened this week than in the final three game stretch, we still have time. We still have time to shackle BRETT FARVE once and for all. We have time to improve and we have time to gain momentum. We haven’t lost any momentum so far really if you look at where we came from.

This loss should show all you FARVE LOVERS that he DOESNT HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO BRING THE JETS TO THE NEXT LEVEL. HE IS NOT THE GREATEST THING THAT HAS HAPPENED TO US because as bad as he played there the team could have been a lot stronger in their defeats. ITS HOW YOU PLAY THE GAME NOT IF YOU WIN IT REGARDLESS!!!!!! YES I AM TALKING TO YOU ALL!!!!

We need to come out next sunday so angry and so focused on this loss that i want Singeltary scratching his bald head by halftime. We need to come out with more emotion and it starts with the captains on downward.

  229. avatar subwayfare says:

I didn’t like the interception either. It may have been a bad throw or it may have been a poor route. I’m just saying the decision was actually pretty sound. Cutler got a TD on a very similar decision.

It looked suspiciously like LC gave up on the route early, to me.

  230. avatar Jose the Jet says:

we were 4-12 last season and we are now 8-4 so far. What is the next level?

  231. avatar TimNC says:

And after all that, the Jets are still alone in 1st place in the AFC East.

  232. avatar Jose the Jet says:

He just over threw him. We do not have Wide receivers like the Broncos do. They have stud and they are wicked fast.

  233. avatar Jose the Jet says:

But only one game in front and Ne has an easier schedule.

  234. avatar Dolphinsrule says:

Dolphins are not fish o wets fan that art thou stupider than dirt. The Dolphin is and always will be a mammal.BTW wets lose!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  235. avatar Jose the Jet says:

Hope you dont talk that way. Yoiu wibble wabble..

  236. avatar Dolphinsrule says:

Fonz- are you the stupid arawak? No one else uses such stupidity in their posts.See you on the Dolphins blog where you spend 90% of your day.

  237. avatar Fonz says:

Hey the fin and dolphinsrule lets talk on your blog,

I just found this out for all you frontrunners,

The jets on defense used 16!!! Thats right 16 defensive players. Mangini had no answer for Cutler and it was apparent. It looks like Rhodes my friend you are lost and confused. Its time to work overtime.

  238. avatar subwayfare says:

My biggest fear is that all the talk of Favre playing like a game manager is going to come back to haunt this team. I actually felt like it did a little bit today. He looked overly tentative and cautious in the red zone. There are going to be games like today when you have to play aggressively from behind. And if you’re doing it scared and tentative, it’s not going to work. I just don’t want to see a repeat of past years where everyone gets so excited about completion percentage and 9 and 10 win seasons full of carefully won, close games only to get a wake-up call in the playoffs when the heat is turned up.

  239. avatar Dolphinsrule says:

16-have another beer or scotch and tell Suzy Kohlber Joe wants too kiss her in the worst way!!The worst way broadway joe can think of is standing up in a hammock-drunk as usual!!! wets lose.you all blow.

  240. avatar TOON2388 says:

poor defensive game plan/execution. poor offenssive play calling/execution on key 3rd/4th downs.

I would still like an explanation as to why we could not challenge a play where Cotch fell on fumble, he was down by contact as soon as he was touched.

  241. avatar kd bart says:

I believe they gave up 500 yards of offense. This was a total team effort. TJ and Leon are the only ones who gave you anything today.

  242. avatar Socal Den Fan says:

    Andrew weiss wrote
I don’t have to tell you why you’re wrong about Sunday’s contest. We’re scoring 30+ per game against the best defenses in the AFC. You won’t be able to run against our base D. We’ve got a shutdown corner on one side and an improving secondary everywhere else. When it counted, Tennessee had less than a hundred yards passing and Collins isn’t prone to mistakes anymore, the way Cutler is. Favre is the best short passer in the history of the game and he’s making very few mistakes in recent games. We have the leading rusher in the conference, we ran for 192 on the Titans D-line and you’re small on defense. Oh, by the way, we’re superb on special teams with a game-breaking return man–and, we’re healthy. For good measure, you’ve got to fly across the country for the game.

Still, I give you credit. If you’re right, I’ll tip my hat. But, I wouldn’t expect that any time soon.
So Andrew how do you like your crow ?baked, fried,BBQ.Any given sunday anybody can get beat. The broncos just wanted it more than the JETS!
    See you in the playoffs!!

  243. avatar Dolphinsrule says:

JETS ARE THE MOST AWESOME TEAM IN NFL HISTORY!!!WE HAVE THE BEST % OF WINS EVER.WE PLAY IN OUR OWN STADIUM FILLED WITH OUR FAITHFUL FANS.WE WON A SUPER BOWL 40 F@@king years ago but we are the class of the AFC!!Now reality check-Dolphins -Best win%-That includes the losses to the wets that can only be explained by murphys law.We own our field.Dolphins17-0.PERFECTION.Lost Super bowls but have been there since you all ate mamas teats.

  244. avatar Jet venter says:

Fish fans are bizarre. I went to an AFC Wildcard game down there in ’94 or ’95. Marino vs. Montana. Seven thousand empty seats. It was 80 degrees and sunny. The second half starts and half the building is out in the turnstiles eating ice cream. Why people from the NE attach to this team…I have no idea. On another note, the Green better get David Harris back soon. I saw guys out there playing LB I never heard of. Ive never seen tight ends so open. Where was Coles???

Plus, the Jets never win games Kevin Harlan does for CBS. It was the same way in the 70′s and 80′s with Charley Jones. You hear CJ’s voice at the beginning of the game and you know its over.

Hey its the NFL. I believe the Browns pasted the Giants this year. Next game. I actually like the Jets playoff chances as a road time after the Wildcard round. Why? We have overtaken the Eagles as the worst fans in football. Anything negative happens and support go’s out the window. I used to hear people boo after Curtis Martin had a 8 yard run. “throw it downfield!!” Duh. Football IQ non-existant…

  245. avatar Jose the Jet says:

Dont you get tired of talking about that. Tats why come in this Blog to talk caca?

  246. avatar Tod says:

  248. avatar Jose the Jet says:

As long as we are better than last year. It’s all about progress for me.

  249. avatar klecko71 says:

    hank….”favre sucks”?

what kind of tool are you??

go away if thats how you really feel….please.

  250. avatar Jet venter says:

Fish fans basically hate Favre because he’s been snapping Danny Marinos lifetime achievement award records. He did this all while playing in the Norris division while Danny didn’t have to put on a coat until mid-December for his whole career. Then in January he’d pack his bags. I’ll admit he was a great QB, but playing 15 years in the weather Wisconson handed you and never missing a game makes Favre’s career much more impressive.

  251. avatar Dolphinsrule says:

Dolphins fans know that Marino is Favre as a Dolphin.A winner through and through.Dan retired before he needed Geritol.Brett before you cry on Babba Wawwas shoulder RETIRE!GO AWAY!!!

  252. avatar Q says:

I know the jets sucked and deserved to lose today– but what was with The Bronco’s faking all those injuries? That was really chicken S%^&t… every time the jets would get their no-huddle offense going, a Denver player would stop play with an “injury”. The bronco’s were able to get proper personnel on the field despite the jets trying the hurry-up because every time the jets started it, the broncos went to injury mode. I counted at least SIX times that this happened, and I believe that every one of those players were back on the field a few plays later. I know it’s not illegal… but it sure seemed wussy!

  253. avatar Fonzie says:

    Hey Dolphins rule,

I heard the Dolphins are expected to lose to Buffalo this week. I will count on it. Lets leave the talking to your blog. Come on lets see this “arawak” come and talk to your beloved fans of fishland. I want to hear what you guys have to say right now.

  254. avatar Fonz says:

    Hey Jose The Jet,

The next level is the 12 million we are paying for FARVE compared to Pennington 4 and a half million and pennington who brought us to the playoffs 4 times in his tenure with the jets. Thats the next level!!!

  255. avatar Jose the Jet says:

We were 4-12 last season. If we get to 11-5 this season will it be worth 7.5 mil difference? You get what you pay for.

The Broncos faking injury looked like the other footbal. I think they were faking it. The NFL needs to look into this next year. They have to make these guys come in two play later, Not one.
