Friend of the blog and photog extraordinaire Alex from the crew of LOLA New York was at the Jets game again this weekend and sent us another photo essay from the game this past weekend. Alex was having some computer issues, so hopefully we’ll load up or link up some more images in the next day or two if we can.
UPDATE: Here’s the full group of photos on LOLA.
You might remember that Alex has sent us his work before from the Chargers and Raiders games. San Diego, Oakland and now Denver … seeing a trend? Alex is too and Alex writes this about game attendance this year:
I’m 0-3 so far at Jets games this year, I know it has nothing on the legendary Bassett Curse. I’m tailgating at the game with a guy who sits behind us at the Meadowlands that we refer to as “The Grifter”, he claims to have an 0-10 streak going. Luckily we’re playing an NFC West team (this season we’ve scored 103 pts against them and only gave up 38), as opposed to when I go to AFC West games (ugh).
Well, we’ll know why it happened should the Jets lose on Sunday — everyone can blame Alex!! Since my curse was finally broken this year, I’m not going to cast any stones. Just so you know Alex, leaving at end of the 3rd quarter doesn’t help lift any curses either … I’ve tried that one too.

Great pics.
Lots of empty seats for this one but who can blame anyone for staying home? Mother nature was not too kind for this homecoming party after two huge road wins. Moving the game to 4:15 did not help either.
Do you think the team came out a little flat seeing a lot of red open space in the stands? I read a lot of hype from the players during the week leading up to the game that the atmosphere was going to be “electric” and that they were pumped up in anticipation.
Props to those who showed though! The place did rock after TJ’s TD’s and the boos were nice and loud for the “fake” injuries during the Jets no huddle late in the game.

I liked the photo essay a lot since it was a much clearer indicator of what transpired during the game than my vantage point (section 322 row 3). I just wanted to mention a few things. First of all, the Jets Flight Crew: I felt bad for them! It was cold and miserable, yet they kept coming out with huge grins on their faces despite the dreary weather. Secondly, what was with that Eddie Royal TD in the 1st? He clearly stepped out of bounds! That put a deep pit in my stomach. By the time Cutler hit Stokley out of NO WHERE in the start of the 4th I may have known it was over, but I have to hand it to the Green and White: They had a really good run of 5 wins. I’m expecting them to win @ least the next 3 of 4 games (with the exception of the Miami since they are going to play HARD).
